Cowart's Common Room
Snow White

Now - with the Christmas Party coming up I want you all to practice being seven dwarves. The younger ones amongst you can fight it out for the pleasure of being Snow White. The rest of us will have to be dwarves , so will you please look out you shovels and picks and walking sticks! And practice your Hi Ho's!

Now as you know this is a very special site and we are very special people. Therefore you will be especially privileged to be granted licence to sing Hi Ho in Welsh. All together now!

Hi ho! Hi he!
I ffordd y'r gwaith a'r ni, (It's off to work we go) i forth eer gweyeth arni
Gyda chaib a rhaw (gudder kaib a row (to rhyme with cow)
A ffon gerllaw,

Hi ho! Hi he, hi he!

Hi ho! Hi he!
Yn nl y'r gwaith a'r ni (It's back from work are we) (Un knoll)
Gyda chaib a rhaw
A ffon gerllaw,

Hi ho! Hi he!

You have to watch the hi's ho's and he's and not get caught out.Very HappyVery HappyVery Happy

Re:
Milla's Avatar my, that trips off the tongue nicely!
will take your word for it, that it doesn't say anything disgusting or irrelevant.

Re:
Exmoorjane's Avatar Shall sing it down the phone to Adrian tonight! Do I have to be a dwarf? (come to think of it, are we allowed to SAY dwarf???) Would much rather be the evil stepmother......he he.

Re:
Fennie's Avatar I played the evil stepmother once - when I learned this as it happens. Great black hairpiece held in place with a comb that was impaled (or so it felt) in my scalp. Wonderfully evil cape and black make-up. I banished Snow White out of the castle with evil curses (yes they were in Welsh too) and then sucked up to that disgusting and oh so disappointing mirror. Story of my life!

Re:
Withy Brook's Avatar Adeste fideles - we sang it in Latin throughout my 6 years at Boarding School. I sing the Latin in Church to this day!
If I can't be Sneezy, I'd like to be Sleepy please.
Thank you, Fennie, I have always wanted to speak the language of my Fathers! My immediate Father couldn't and it was the great sorrow of my young life.

Re:
Lampworkbeader's Avatar Thankyou Fennie, just what I needed. I once played the leading lady in our staff panto, Cinderalfred, but the head got wind of it and we were banned at the last minute.
