Cowart's Common Room
Total decadence

or what?
I took 38 shirts to the dry cleaners today so that they could iron them! And do I feel guilty? Well, actually, yes. However if I hadn't they would probably still be waiting to be done this time next year. I still have a large, Huge, ENORMOUS pile of everything else from trousers to bed sheets and all in between but at least the shirts are now someone else problem.
The real irony (!) is that a couple of years ago I ran my own (very financially successful but not something I wanted to do for ever) ironing business, and did lots of other peoples shirts!!
So now I can spend some more time on my blog, writing for my course and leaving messages here. Tee hee.

Fennie's Avatar Just how do you amass 38 shirts all in need of washing at the same time?
I don't doubt you, it's just that eight would be a large number here.

Westerwitch's Avatar Berlimey that is a lot of shirts. Now stop beating yourself up and LOVE the fact that they are being for you. You deserve a break.

CalicoKate's Avatar Ah Fennie they didn't need washing all at the same time. I keep up with that as a machine does it for me! They have been sitting in a growing heap awaiting attention from sometime during the summer! Other more important things to do you understand (no idea what that has been tho!)

Frances's Avatar Ah, Kate, I do like that turnaround from professional to experienced amateur.

I used to do lots more ironing than I do now, and found it strangely relaxing. As I seem to stress more nowadays, maybe I should just plug in that old steam iron and start smoothing everything out.

Sumarell's Avatar My pet hate...ironing! I go to great trouble to try and buy clothes that don't need ironing Rolling Eyes

Exmoorjane's Avatar Ditto to Fennie and Faith....I think Adrian has four shirts, full stop. But don't remotely blame you. I loathe ironing and barely do any - I really miss the Aga as used to press things on that and they'd do! Life's way too short to waste too much time pressing things.....

Jayem's Avatar Useful cure for the ironing blues.......... find a fascinating audio book to listen to as you work, and you won't notice how much there is! Works for me, every time.

Well done you! I used to scoff at spending this much money on something which I felt I ought to do myself. But then I costed up how much I am worth an hour and saw that this was actually false economy.

However nowadays as I am a struggling self employed person I am frequently ironing, hoovering and gardening whilst dreaming up things in my mind!

38 shirts is a lot though - you must have large wardrobes!!!!
