Cowart's Common Room
A Slip(per)-up on the Way to Amsterdam

It had been a bit of a week but we were at last off to Amsterdam for a few days with our Dutch family.
We parked the car at the airport and were trundling our carry-on bags across the tarmac to Departures. As we negotiated some steps I heard husband wail in despair "Oh, Rosie!".
"Hells bells! What now" I thought turning to look at him. He was gazing at his feet. "I've still got my slippers on!". And he had. Navy corduroy.

Re:
How lovely. I can remember my dad doing the same thing once, we were all in the cinema, his bleeper went off,(he was a retained fire man), off he went to fight fires in his slippers.
Enjoy your get together in Amsterdam

Re:
Preseli Mags's Avatar And I bet his feet were really comfortable on the flight. He'll start a trend. I did the same when I was pregnant with Hannah. In my defence, I couldn't see my feet. Rolling Eyes

Re:
KittyB's Avatar Marvellous - that one will go down in family history. My father once wore his slippers by mistake when we had a family outing to Corbridge (a rather smart Northumberland market-type town). Luckily that was in the days when my mother used to buy him beautiful smart leather ones from Bally. Not like the Matalan specimens he's reduced to these days!

Elizabethm's Avatar Just great! I once looked down at my feet at the end of a work presentation and realised I was wearing two different heeled black boots so he is not alone.
