Cowart's Common Room

I went into the village today and saw that we have a new Art Gallery just opened, never had time to have a browse so came home and thought I would check it out on the internet. I tapped in the name of our village before Gallery, and immediately up came BLOOMIN CAMILLA....... heck.!!

I am still very saddened by the sad news of Sam's husband Richard and now hear more sad news, dear Blossom, so very sorry to hear about your darling Mum and your ex- Mother-In-Law. My love and hugs to you Blossom.

If you can't sleep and there are others on line then come and have a chat with us here over a cuppa.

Night Night.

TIGGYWINKLE's Avatar Hi Camilla,
How are you? I did a bit of posting, and heading to bed soon. So sad about Sam. I think everyone is shattered. Have been busy to-ing and fro-ing to hospital, and consultants with Mr. T. He is having a bad spell, but in great form considering. My sister has also ended up in hospital. Never a dull moment. I was sick last week, but feeling better to-day. Managed to finish my 12 quilted place mats, and make my Pecan Loaf. Got prezzies posted to Australia, and hope to do some shopping this week. I have closed the B&B for the present as I just couldn't cope at the moment. I am having our Christmas lunch tomorrow with my Tennis friends, so that is something to look forward to.

Frances's Avatar Camilla, do not think that I have fled the owl branch.

This is such an emotional time of year ... always.
We have so many folks on this site with sadness that they would wish away, and cannot wish away.

I will be back with you shortly. Promise. xo

Irish Eyes's Avatar Am I right in thinking I have found the owl post???

Camilla's Avatar Hi Tiggy,

Thankyou. I am well thank you for asking but saddened by friends here on the site who have and are experiencing loss and pain of loved ones. Only today I received a letter from a friend who used to live in London and has just moved to Somerset with her husband to tell me that her husband now has Parkinson's, and he is only 50.

I pray that your husband will have a better recovery Tiggy, good to know that he is in good from though. So sorry to hear about your sister Tiggy, I do hope nothing too serious.

So pleased that you are feeling better Tiggy, and you have so much to worry about lately, cannot be easy for you.

The quilted mats sound lovely are they in different colours? and Pecan Loaf, I like the sound of that, would love the recipe if you get time one day Tiggy.

Yes I managed to send off some parcels abroad, and did some wrapping today and wrote out some more cards. I think it a good idea to have closed your B&B Tiggy, would be so much for you do, and especially when your husband is poorly in hospital, a very anxious time for you.

Enjoy your Christmas lunch with your friend tomorrow, ooh, are you a tennis fan......... tennis is my favourite sport.

Frances's Avatar Hello again to all you folks across the Atlantic who can keep awake longer than I.

Do we all not agree what a marvelous branch we perch upon? I keep thinking about how it was not so long ago that I had no idea what a blog, or a website might be.

And now, I know so much more. And have made so many grand friends. And ... this weekend fully have experienced the deep sadness that can come from a distance. A distance that never seemed so far away. I am so, so distressed by the loss of our Cowgirl Sam's lovely husband Richie.

All the same, it is so sweet to be able to join others around the world who might be having similar feelings about Sam's tragic loss, and also to comfort others who are having other big challenges in their lives.

Irish Eyes's Avatar Beautifully expressed as always Frances; I was heading for my bed, but got curious as to how to find the owl post, and am loving the goss. My mind keeps turning to Sam, may God give her the strength to get through these harrowing days

Irish Eyes's Avatar Ok, sleep is getting me; this owl is flying to her perch. May tomorrow be a better day.

Frances's Avatar Yes, Irish Eyes,
Please do get your rest. On this overnight perch, we are always urging each other to go to the land of nod, and then leaving ... one more message.

Promise to be in touch with you soon. And hoping that ... if you cannot sleep on another night, you will return here. We really are here for each other right round the clock.

TIGGYWINKLE's Avatar Thanks Camilla and Irish Eyes. I can't say you get used to illness, but there has been continuous Illness in my family, and Mr. T got ill 6 years ago. I guess you learn to cope with the bad times, because you have to, but it can be scarey, and not going to get better. However, I am in great form, and looking forward to starting on the decorations with little Muffin (granddaughter) on Wednesday. She is the joy of our lives. Camilla, played a lot of Tennis up to 2 years ago, when I broke my foot catching a daddylonglegs. Time is my big problem, but will play on 27th for our Mulled Wine Tournament! I think Frances is still hung over. Where is she?

Camilla's Avatar Hello Frances,

I do think this site is truly wonderful, we have made so many friends here who are lovely and it is comforting to know that we may share in each other's grief and that the support given to one another is worth it's weight in gold.

I had never blogged either before CL or had a PC or knew nothing about the internet, but I am so pleased that our darling Headmistress WW held out that olive branch to us, so that we may stay in touch with Purple. I was going through a very difficult stage in my life and I have Purple to thank for that.

Camilla's Avatar Night Night Irish Eyes,

I do hope that we may see you here on owl post again tomorrow.

Frances's Avatar Hello to all of you who are still awake. Yes, this site is remarkable, and is remarkable because the folks who visit here bring wonderful positive energy. They also bring so much wisdom, so much sensitivity, and find a place to let their very own selves be present.

TIGGYWINKLE's Avatar Camilla, The place mats are just quilted with Christmas fabric on side and Cream Damask on the other. Think I will do a Gold and cream theme this year with a splash of red and green. The Pecan loaf doubles as cake or pudding, which is handy, as everyone has to have a raspberry trifle as well. Will post the recipe. Sorry to have missed you again Frances. Must go to beddie Byes. Nightie night. xx0xx

Camilla's Avatar Thank you Tiggy,

I can understand what you say about continual illness, one try's to stay strong for them and it can be so worrying, you just want them to be better so that they do not suffer so.Luckily I have not had too many illnesses, but I know that my blood family did used to have continual illnesses.

Good to know that you are feeling in good form Tiggy, and I bet little Muffin will have such a fab time helping you with all the decorations, I adore children.

Broke your foot catching a daddylonglegs.... eek.!! that must have been soo painful, best of luck for the 27th Tiggy, hope you win. I used to play, not very well mind you but do love watching the tournaments on telly.

Perhaps Frances is taking a tour of the site, I have not been over to all, I will hopefully be able to do this tomorrow.

Camilla's Avatar Thank you Tiggy, the place mats sound lovely, and thank you for posting on the recipe for Pecan Loaf later, can't wait to try that.

I hope you get a good night's sleep Tiggy, nighty night, see you tomorrow.

Frances's Avatar Camilla,
When I look at the UK version of time under your last comment and see it says 2:32 am, I think that as your deputy owl, I really must encourage you to turn out the lights, close your eyes.

As you head for that land of nod, please do know that it was very comforting to have this perch available tonight.

Nite, nite.

Camilla's Avatar Frances - Thank you.

I agree with my good wise friend the deputy owl on hopping into bed now.

Comforting for me too to know that this perch was available.

Night Night, see you tomorrow.
