Cowart's Common Room
Purple Pride

I just want to say amidst this sadness how proud I feel to be a member of this wonderful Purple site. I am not religious but yesterday I genuinely felt the love and support for our dear Sam.

Blossomcottage's Avatar I agree Toady, there is the most amazing feeling of love and friendship here long may it continue.

Bradan's Avatar I agree Toady, we have something very special here. xx

Well said Toady. The beauty of this site is that we are all so different in ages, personalities and status, yet here to support whoever is being buffeted by life, we have the ability to put differences and discord aside and extend the hands of friendship across the world. A safety net in this sometimes horrid world.

Exmoorjane's Avatar Ah Toady, you read my mind. I always knew there are some fabulous people here but by heck, it was so moving reading the posts yesterday.

Westerwitch's Avatar Well put Toady . . . The good thing about Purplecoo is that it is always here and during the day there is usually someone on it and because of that you never feel alone - and with the posts that people put up for Sam the words are always there to comfort her whenever she and indeed other people need them.

Angel's Avatar Oh, I absolutely agree Toady

I am in bits here having read some of the posts and thinking of Sam, her family and dear Richard.

The best way I can describe this site is to liken it to the mother who's heart somehow manages to grow and find more love when she has another child...

It doesn't matter what we ask or how many times we look to our purple friends for help and support there always seems to be the capacity to give a little is so very moving and I am so honoured to be part of it.

Pipany's Avatar Well done Toady for saying what so many of us clearly feel. I think it was one of the biggest surprises to me to realise just how touched I was by the love that came from everyone yesterday and to realise how much you had all come to mean to me personally. How lucky we are.

Frances's Avatar Yes, Toady has expressed what I also am thinking about what has been created right here. xo

Lawyerlady's Avatar I agree with your sentiments totally Toady.Although we do not know each other in person, we are a family in spirit and I think what has been proved is that if one of us hurts , we all hurt.I can only echo the sentiment that we are all so very lucky to have each other.

Cait's Avatar I agree Toady.

Do you remember the young woman I know who nearly died (twice)? She had an emergency premature Caeserian as she had an unrelated lung infection she could not shake off? She was in intensive care.

I truly believe that purple power helped her and every time I see her now in the library with her bright smile I am so happy. I never told her by the way as they say that these things have more power if they are done quietly. I may tell her one day.

Having said that I also believe that if it is one's time to go then that is the way of life and death. We shall never understand it but I believe it is part of Life's pattern and our time here on Earth is just a part of it.

Milla's Avatar you're right, Toady, I feel the same way. I don't "know" Sam, or Richard, but it felt like a body blow, I felt winded when I heard and so very sorry (what an inadequate word) for them both.

Withy Brook's Avatar Echoing all that has been said. What has impressed me, over and above the overflowing love and caring, is the beauty of the words that many of the cooers wrote.
I am so glad that Sam is aware of what is being poured out for her here.

CalicoKate's Avatar Oh Ditto Ditto Ditto Toady & all.

So succinctly and accurately put Toady. I do hope Sam is drawing much comfort from her virtual friends around the globe.

Camilla's Avatar I so agree with you Toady, there is such wonderful support here on the site, and it is so comforting to know that we are here for one another.
