Cowart's Common Room

Deck the halls with boughs of holly.............tra lala lala lala la la.

Cannot believe it is almost three weeks away to Christmas, still lots for me to do yet. HL always worries about the main festive meal on the actual day, Turkey it has got to be, tradition I suppose has seen to that.

Hope your day went well and if you have all that gorgeous snow where you live, I have snow envy, stay warm my friends.

If you can't sleep and there are others on line then have a natter here.

Night Night, & Sweet Dreams.

Camilla's Avatar Hello Cait,

I hope that you are feeling better from flu-virus. Am I right in saying that you may have snow where you are, was mentioned on the news early this morning for that part of the country.

Cait's Avatar Hi Camilla

No we haven't any snow here, only on the tops of the mountains.... so I have snow envy too.
I am much better though I had root canal treatment at the dentist yesterday so I feel the effects of that.
God, I sound like a real hypochondriac! (we do have them in our family).
I have posted a lovely happy song over on my blog. If you like Tracy Chapman you will love it.

TIGGYWINKLE's Avatar Hi Camilla, You sound bright and cheery. How I would love to have crunchy snow. It is very mild here. Had a lovely evening with Muffin yesterday. Drove up to Enniskerry, a mountain village about 15 mins from here. Very quaint, Victorian, with lovely shops. People dressed in Victorian costumes. The was Carol Singing, Mulled Wine, mince pies, a craft and food Hall, a live crib with a miniature donkey and sheep. Then Santa arrived by pony and trap. Santa's helper came by donkey, who had the cutest straw Christmas hat with a little lamp on it. Muffin at 5 was captivated by it all, and Santa gave her sweets. There was a big countdown to light the Christmas tree. Magic!

Cait's Avatar Hi Tiggy! I must read your blog too.

Posted by: Cait on 5th Dec 2008 at 12:35AM

Camilla's Avatar Cait - thank you. Ah it must be as you said snow on mountains only newsman did mention snow in that area.

Oh root canal treatment is horrid, I had this done last year and felt absolutely awful when I left the dentist, sat in the dentist chair for over an hour. I have had quite a lot of dentistry done which included extraction, and two bridges done also. Have you got a NHS dentist Cait, know they are like gold dust these days.

I adore Tracey Chapman music Cait, we have very similar tastes.Smile

TIGGYWINKLE's Avatar Hi Cait, Hope you are feeling better. Everyone seems to be sickly at the moment. I am feeling wretched, and going around in circles to-day getting nowhere, but thankfully I am rarely sick.
Where in Ireland are your roots Cait? I see you a Yates fan. Trying to figure my way around blogging. There is so much I don't understand. Root canal treatment isn't so pleasant. I must go and listen to your song.

Cait's Avatar No my dentist is private now, he was NHS for ages, he is a real sweetie though, gives off good vibes, so I never mind going. I too have had a lot of work doneSmile

Camilla's Avatar Tiggy - thank you. I long for more snow, but the deep crunchy pretty white type, we had 5 inches last weekend, but then it soon disappeared quickly with rain-fall.

Your evening at Enniskerry sounds wonderful, how lovely for for children to see it too. Muffin must have been soo excited to see Father Christmas, did you manage to take any pictures Tiggy?

The lights were switched on in our village yesterday evening, a huge tree stands in the market square, and all the stalls were laid out, lots of toys and vintage pieces, together with a full brass band and all the shops stayed open until 9pm.

One of the Churches is in full view of the market and had twinkling tiny white lights over the entrance to it, very pretty.

I remember when I was small and my Mother taking us to Selfridges in the Christmas Grotto there, I always sat on Father Christmas's knee and told him what I wished for, a talking walking doll, or a huge teddy bear, I was a shy child so sitting on his knee must have been such a worry for me at the time.

Camilla's Avatar Cait - Our dentist is NHS, but is going private soon, I do not mind going to him as he is a very good dentist, south african I think, at least he does not STAB the needle in for injections like my other dentist I had, I complained about him as he was most impersonal, used to do with all the ladies apparantly.

Hope your mouth is not so sore tomorrw Cait.

Camilla's Avatar I hope you feel better soon Tiggy, know you have a lot on your mind at the moment with your husband being ill and was in hospital, I pray that he continues to progress well.

Don't worry about doing your blog Tiggy, it will fall into place eventually, I was hopeless when I did my first one, taking that first plunge is not always easy, and I am hopeless with technical stuff, I cannot even remember how I managed to post first blog now.

Tiggy- There should be info on the Forums under the wording of SUPPORT for posting blogs, if not perhaps PM Jacko he is a whiz for help on this.

Posted by: Camilla on 5th Dec 2008 at 01:14AM

Camilla's Avatar Tiggy- If you go to Jackofall's member page, click on that and you will see he has a TUTORIAL to help for blogs, sorry I should have said EMAIL Jacko not PM, once you have Jacko's page up he has highlighted an email link for you there, good luck.

TIGGYWINKLE's Avatar Yes Camilla, I must look at Jacko's tutorial. Thank you for the help. Frances must have had a good night, last night! It was so lovely to meet her in NY. I was to meet Salle de Bain, but we have had to defer it. Your village sounds delightful. I must say I do love Christmas. I wish I had coer's names, age, and location pitter patter off the top of my head. Isn't it hard to remember all the lovely snippets of information.

Frances's Avatar Oh, no, I am late to the owl perch, and all have closed their eyes.

It was grand reading all you comments back and forth!

No rest for me today, since the demands of the shop were way beyond what I had imagined. I was really tired even before sunset, and still had several hours yet to go. I would love to give more details, but won't.

If I ever get to that pillow, I imagine that I will reach REM state in record time.
