Cowart's Common Room
I'm back from Southern California

Got home to Devon today after spending Thanksgiving with my brother and his wife just outside of Los Angeles, by the sea. Was great to see them and the family. His wife's sister has 12 children and 13 grandchildren, so was a massive crowd.

The sun shined and it was warm. They are badly in need of rain there and amazingly it did rain on two days - we were accused of bringing it!

It's odd being in sun in November though and Christmas seems weird having t-shirts on. Apparently people wear shorts there year round and we saw plenty of them. A very pleasant lifestyle but I like winter.

So I cannot grumble that it was freezing when we landed and out house had no heat on. Brrr.

Have missed all of you and my cats who are busy ignoring me now, as cats do when you have been away.

I admit to being homesick while away despite the wonderful surroundings and great food. I checked in online a few times, bought British newspapers and watched the thoroughbred sales on the Tattersalls website because a foal I was involved with was bought by a top notch Irish stud and made top lot of the first three days of the sale! He's by Galileo, the sire of Lush Lashes (Blossom's favourite) and we hope he makes it to the track and does well. When he races (think 2 years from now!) I hope you can all send him many purple vibes for luck. Galileo just took his first season as Champion Sire, looks on the way to emulate his father Sadler's Wells who had 14 seasons at the top.

Many congrats to Salle de Bain on her new horse!!!

Must go catch up on blogs and postings.
