Cowart's Common Room
Can we just have a resounding cheer please....

She is going to strangle me in cold blood for this ....BUT.....

somebody plonked a little notice in the writing forum a few weeks ago about a writing competition for the WI magazine - well Lawyerlady and I knew just the person .....so we nagged and bullied, pleaded and cajoled and poor Mountainear under pressure, especially seeing as how she had just flown back into the country from Greece, did the business and entered .....she made the final 10 and was robbed on the last day! Her entries are on her blog and I think we should all give a resounding cheer for getting there!
So altogether for Mountainear ..........Loudly and with feeling!!!

Beautiful writing F ...and dont they recognise a class act when they see it?

sloping off back to back row of Marton VH on sat night.........

Re:
Mountainear's Avatar I've just come home from my brain exercise class (aka Medieval Latin) to find this announcement.

Firstly - a boot up the b*m for SBS shouting out. Did I tick the box for publicity?

Secondly - thanks for all your kind words. Much appreciated. x

Re:
LittleBrownDog's Avatar Yes, well done indeed. Like Jane will read tomorrow over coffee. Can't imagine they could possibly have found anyone better than someone who can write equally beautifully about fog, utility wear and the foibles of odd animals as the fancy takes her.

Re:
TIGGYWINKLE's Avatar Congratulations Mountainear. I love the piece about your Dad. I have a photo of myself, found in My Dad's wallet after he died and it is all scrunched up. It has a special meaning for me. However, I have just updated to Picasa 3, which has an airbrush facility. It really works, so I plan to scan and do a job on some old photos. Thought you might be interested. Tiggywinkle x

It is also good to feel you know someone who has had some success - it gives one a glow - if only reflected.
