Cowart's Common Room
Skint

I felt like a student!! Went into Greggs to buy some of their lovely sandwiches for me and the farmer when my eye caught the Danish's. Being one who cannot resist a cake of any sort, I ordered two danish's aswell. Until I opened my purse and saw there wasn't enough money to buy 2 sandwiches and 2 danish's!! "Forget the danish's" I said, quickly paying the girl the 3 odd and hurrying out. I even made a lame excuse about needing to go to the bank!!

Re:
Salle de Bain's Avatar Well they say that millionaires never carry cash don't they?

...the worst one is when you at the check-out with a trolley full and a queue behind.

Did that in the Co-op once....very embarrassing.

Re:
Mountainear's Avatar Well as Woozle says think of the calories...

I've done the full trolley, no purse thing. Fortunately we lived close enough to the supermarket to go home and get it without too much trouble. But all eyes were on me as the queue speculated what I had done wrong as my trolley and I were led away.

Re:
Milla's Avatar at least you had your purse on you, and hadn't taken a chunk out of the sandwich before realising you had no money at all Wink

Re:
Exmoorjane's Avatar I did something really stupid the other day. Had barely any money in my purse - Adrian wandering around Darts Farm (posh farm shop) and I had a craving for sweets. Picked up a packet and asked the lad to scan them. 38p he said. Oh dear, they'll have to go back, said I. Thought he gave me a funny look and, as I stalked out, realised I had two 20p's in my hand. Help.

Re:
Westerwitch's Avatar Done the trolley full, rung up, all in bags and no money to pay for it several times at our local Co-op and they wouldn't give me tick - I had to go home and get the money . . . luckily it is only three miles away.
