Cowart's Common Room
From Cowgirl with Love

Hello Everyone,

Thank you all so much for the continued support and love. It was great of both WW and EJ to put the posts up for me previously, I was so flat out (like a lizard drinking, WW's fave saying) that I just couldn't get to the pc.

Richie continues to make stellar steps. Yesterday we walked about 4 km through Cornwall Park - and it was just lovely. Think: Richmond Park type park with cows and sheep and drystone walls.... blue skies and sky larks. Magic. We were out all afternoon with that and then tea on the terrace at my accommodation at the Cancer Society Lodge.

Today his parents collected us after we attended the service at the hospital chapel, and we went to a gorgeous garden in an old quarry - Eden Garden which is on the side of Mt Eden, just five mins drive from the hospital. We had lunch in the garden cafe, and then Richie went on to impress us by walking almost the whole way round the garden - including the steep bits, up loads of steps and rocky shelfs that pose as steps! He was amazing, and also really enjoyed the surroundings which are a credit to the wonderful volunateers that do the gardening - waterfalls and bubbling streams, lush green ferns and flowering shrubs, just stunning.

We came back to the lodge and had a tea party out on the outdoors terrace - the lodge has everything you need in the way of equipment and kitchen facilites.

Chemo again tomorrow, and then - Fingers Crossed - Riverdale on Tuesday YYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAA

Love to you all,
Sam

Re:
Withy Brook's Avatar Marvelous to hear of Richard's progress. Hope the chemo doesn't make him feel too horid, but hopefully you will be home and he will be able to rest in his own 'nest'. Terrific all that walking - building up his fitness again. Love and continued prayers.
