Cowart's Common Room
Tiggywinkles flght of fantasy

I did a lot of thinking while I was away on holiday. I am sorting out my time management at the moment, as I donít have enough time in a day to meet my busy schedule. Of course, what did I do some months ago, but join Purple Coo as my little escape, and to set up my blog, so I can build a journal for my dear grandchildren. This has really pushed me over the top, as I spend so much time reading all you wonderful blogs, I donít get to blog, and secondly I am stimulated to do so many things I love to do and havenít done for years. Let me tell you how my day turned out to-day. I live by lists, but can be such a butterfly. I paid a quick visit this morning and it all started with Kitty Bís newspaper flower pots, and Salle reply. That led me on to my tip about toilet roll tubes. That led on to making Pinatas, and then my comment about a toilet roll tube hat. Have now gone from gardening to crafts. I couldnít get the idea of a hat out of my head - little tubes covered in Pink silk at a rauncy angle, to wear to the Races. I would call it the looloo hat. Be careful all you inspiring friends, or I will suggest making one for homework! Then I got sad, because my 2 racing buddies have died last year. My thoughts travelled on to making things out of nothing. The only thing I waste is - toast Ė lots of it in a B&B. So I created a new breakfast dish Ė crumbed the toast, and cooked it in butter with a little brown sugar and some almond essence. Layered it with apple puree ( apples stored in newspaper gifted from friends) a drizzle of cream, toasted almonds on top, and a few cranberries, and a leaf of Lemon Verbena. Tastes delicious. I now know why I drove my mother crazy when I was little. Lateral thinking didnít come with children in those days. Happy with her 2 boys, she thought I was the change at 40. I sure was and changed her life forever. No wonder my dad used to take me off to the country with him. I also made Lavander sugar, and lemon syrup. Pipany has me doing embroidery again. Want to do some freehand pictures for Christmas. I have had a great day, but the ironing is piled up, accounts not done, cheques not written. What are you doing to me Purple Coo? I love you all.

Re:
Frances's Avatar Tiggy, how wonderful to see how our web doth influence your life, as it does so many of ours.

The tip about how to use the toast crumbs just sounds so delicious. Well done.

I am now only a day away from having to return to work after my two weeks' off, and soooo wish that I could hold back that finish line. Aside from all the other arts, crafts, baking, seeing friends and other bits that have filled up this time, I just wish that I would always have more time to visit with all you international folks on this site.

Re:
Milla's Avatar of course you do! we're all fantastic! I was worried you were bowing out. YOur day sounds delicious - what IS it about the thought of almonds, cream, sugar and apple that makes me want to rummage greedily in my cupboards.

Re:
TIGGYWINKLE's Avatar Milla and Cait, I was away on holiday in America for three weeks, so back with lots of renewed energy. We live South of Dublin. I have lost my enthusiam for racing, and find it difficult to take the time off with running the business, etc. hence joining PC. Where are you Crucifix? Will be posting about my trip to America, and some nice horse photos to come. Perhaps we will all meet up some day. Met up with Frances in NY which was great.
