Cowart's Common Room
On the Radio

Quickly ducking in to say a quick 'Hi' and to let you know that I'm on a documentary today on BBC World Service called 'World Without...Cows'! Yes, cows are getting more mainstream. Smile
It's on DAB radio (or iPlayer) at 3.05pm and 8.05pm today (already been on this morning, but I missed most of it!)
Haven't heard it yet, so I may sound like a complete dafty, but the bit I did hear sounded really interesting - well, it would be if it's about cows!
Glad to hear that husbands are home and welcome to our new member...and UPL love that pig. x

Update: worked out a link to it on: World Without....Cows

Re:
Unpeuloufoque's Avatar AH yet anothre thing I can not recieve here in France and I do love cows too.. well done you are fast becoming no 1 bovine expert in the nation! Now you've seen the curly pig have you considered branching out a bit, pigs are cleverer than cows and sooo adorable...

Re:
Exmoorjane's Avatar Yeah, afraid I could live without cows (ducks at incoming flying cow pats) but have a deep fondness for pigs. Well done though, Mootia - you are indeed becoming the cow uber expert. What is your next book about?

Re:
Mootia's Avatar Well, funnily enough...I was actually asked to write about Cows, after I'd approached the publisher to write about Pigs (they already had some American writing about pigs - the book is STILL not out!)....so my first love was pigs (having grown up with them on our farm and working with them on outdoor units - they are wonderfully intelligent and fantastic fun to watch). There is a lovely book called 'The Engish Pig: A History' by Malcolmson and Mastoris for all you pig-mad people.
Next book is a cultural history of MILK...was asked to write it by the COW publisher...trying to finish it before Xmas so I can then take time off to have baby, etc.
And am just about to sign a book deal on my third book...but will wait until next week to reveal what it's about....and, no, it's not pigs, although they will be included Wink

Re:
Elizabethm's Avatar Have missed this by being at work today but will see if I can cope with the technology to find it tonight. I am a pig fan too although my first love is definitely chickens! On the animal front.
