Cowart's Common Room
Granny Bond...licensed to Paint!

Oh God! This always happens....once I have a brush in my hand I can't stop! Chairs, cupboards, the odd wall here and there! I've no sense of colour....but I love change. I finished the yellow in the kitchen and then did this!

deB nearly choked on his cabbage & bacon last night when I turned the lights on over the table. It's a subtle trick I use to break him in gently to one of my frenzical painting efforts. I just have candle light to start with, so that he can't see the walls properly. I then ply him with a glass of wine or two, and then nonchalantly turn the main light on whilst chatting furiously about anything else.

It didn't work this time....he's now sulking, and says it feels like being inside a mausoleum...well I've never been inside one so I wouldn't know! He may find himself entombed shortly though.....he's such a magnolia man!!

"Pleeeeeez don't paint anything else" he pleaded as he left this morning.

Red rag to a bullLaughingLaughing

....any ideas for what I should put on the windowsills to complement the look?

There are three identical windows in this area.
Colour is called Sugar Bag Light by the way...F&B....

Now then.....where's me paintbrush.......?

Re:
Milla's Avatar I think that's an absolutely beautiful colour (it's a bit like, but darker, the sort of duck egg blue we chose for our sitting room). Tres elegant. He'll come round. And do you need anuthing on the window sills? they're such great windows that being clutter=free looks good.

Re:
Westerwitch's Avatar I like the colour as well and I am a scots mist girl . . . now called pebble dash number 5.

Love your window sills - I would say keep the colour light to reflect in the daylight.

Re:
Pondside's Avatar Good for you - nothing like stepping out and going for big change! The Great Dane, unlike most men, likes colour - the brighter the better - which is why we have a pomegranate red kitchen. I really had to negotiate to change the periwinkle blue bedroom for a pale, warm yellow - the blue became cave-grey in lamplight.
I think you should leave the sills as they are - I like the clean contrast.
PS Do you feel like a working holiday? Come on over here and you can paint to your heart's content in hall, dining room and living room - spare rooms too!

Re:
Cait's Avatar Beautiful blue walls.
I would leave the sills.
Like you I love colour, I am going to do my bedroom soon, pretty pink. It is the only room left that is white.
Colour is great, (men are all the same).

Re:
About ten years ago, after a truly grim, grey summer, The Farmer was away for a couple of days buying rams, I transformed the kitchen from flowery wallpaper and ginger 80's pine cupboards into a blaze of bright blue cupboards and the brightest yellow walls you have ever seen. Fired earth colours, but can't remember their names. When he got home he walked into the kitchen, took a sharp intake of breath and said 'F********ck me.'Blink
I don't think he's ever left me on my own againLaughing
