Cowart's Common Room
Quick Reminder

Just a quick reminder about how the Purple Book Club works.
1. Please let me know, either via comments or by PM, which book you would like included on the list. (I have been given 8 suggestions so far but we usually go for about 12)
2. I then amalgamate the suggested books into one big list and write a little blurb about each book. (It helps if you let me know something about the book)
3. I then put the list on my blog, under PURPLE BOOKS.
4. Each person then votes for 1st and 2nd choice. We vote via my blog PURPLE BOOKS.
I'll warn you via 'common room' when it is time to vote.
5. The most popular book becomes the Purple Book Club Summer Read.

Remember everyone is automatically a member, so if you have a book to put on the list, just let me know.
See you later

Re:
Inthemud's Avatar Not sure if this book has been mentioned before, but I was given copy when i was in hospital and i haven't read it yet, but my friend assures me it is an excellent book:
The Tenderness of the Wolves by Stef Penny

"As winter tightens its grip on the isolated settlement of Dove River, a woman steels herself for the journey of a lifetime. "
There is murder, a young person disappears, and there are deep running tensions in the frontier township.
To clear her son's name the woman has no choice but to follow the tracks to the dead man's cabin and the desolate landscape that lies ahead.

Re:
Milla's Avatar I think this was raised last time. It won the best Costa (erstwhile Whitbread) last year for first novel, I think and while it IS good, it isn't quite as good as it should be. I'll steer clear of SBS when I say that The People's Act of Love is much better (it's the snow, see, that means they just have to be lumped together). It does do cold very well, but ... there was still a but for me. But then E will attest that I am a dreadfully fussy bint.
