Cowart's Common Room

Could not log on at all this evening, phew, finally got here.!!

Quite a busy day yesterday, on the way back from Norwich I popped into the Supermarket to stock up on some wine, oh, and could'nt resist some custard tarts.

A lovely lady served me at the tills, 'hello' she said, I could see that she was wearing a name badge, 'hello Sue' I said. Sue was quite chatty, and began talking about retirement, to which I remarked 'where do the years go, I'v just reached that'. 'Berlimey, she said, you're wearing well'. I love that lady - Sue, I shall be going to her till again next week, ah there's life in the old dog yet.!!Laughing

Took Daisy Boo to the Vet today to have her nails clipped, she absolutely loathes having her nails clipped, she is not generally a fierce dog, but she had to have a little muzzle fitted, and it took three of us to hold her while nails were clipped, and she barked at all the dogs in the waiting room too, so much so that poor young chap at the desk could'nt hear people speaking on the telephone.

Camilla's Avatar Hello Patsy,

Good to know that I am not alone, I am just going to pop the kettle on, and put some more logs on the fire, back soon.....

Frances's Avatar Hello Camilla, it is great to have a chance to catch up with you!
Please do get those logs on the fire. That whole image just lets me know how different are our homes, and make it even more remarkable how alike we can be.

One of my staff members has had to put her beloved old pug to sleep over the weekend. She called me this morning to let me know she just could not put on a happy face for the shop today. I completely understand. I was watching her jaw muscle yesterday, and knew that she was being brave.

All the same, manager that I am, I do hope that she will be back tomorrow!

Camilla's Avatar Hello Frances,

Lovely to see you, oh no, poor lady with Pug, I was only talking to my HL a few days ago about getting a Pug dog as a friend for Daisy Boo. I do know how so sad it is to lose a pet so can understand how lady feels.

Patsy's Avatar Yes I'm up way too late again, Camilla but isn't it peaceful?I'm trying to finish an essay on equity and trusts and I feel like I've tied myself in knots.
I pop over to the site for a few moments relaxation, and darn it..that's another hour gone as I find so many interesting things to read.
Frances so sorry to hear about your employee's pug. Been through that so many times with owners but if handled sensitively, can be strangely quite a relief for all concerned especially if the poor pet was beginning to suffer. I still have a few tears when I think of my beloved Springer....been gone about 10 years now but was my constant companion and so I do understand.
Now I must go to bed,
Good night all
Patsy xx

Which book are you reading at the moment Frances?

Frances's Avatar Good to see you fellow owls!
I am going to have a little look through the forum posts and the blogs, and then ... it could be lights out for me.
Sweet dreams to all.

Camilla's Avatar Thank you Patsy,

Yes, early hours of the morning is the only time I seem to be able to relax and wind down from the busy and hectic life of the daytime, and I am an Owl, which is good I suppose.

You must have seen so many a sad person with their pets who were poorly Patsy, being an ex Vet. We too had a Springer years ago, we had her from a Pup, she lived until 15 years, completely heartbroken when she went.

Yes, this site is very addictive Patsy, love it here, just wish I had more time during the day here.

Sleep well Patsy, hope to see you again this evening.

Camilla's Avatar Frances, I too will have a little look through forums, then lights out for me too, apart from one bedside lamp I will keep on for company, loathe complete darkness.

Night Night, and sleep well, see you later tonight Frances.
