Cowart's Common Room
Tagged!

I have just been catching up with some blogs and caught up with Pondside who tagged me weeks ago for 7 things about me. Sorry Pondside for being so lax! Here are my 7 things:

1. I have a grumpy grey cat called Maud who bosses me around, rules my life and costs me a fortune at the vet.

2. I had to name my van Claude so that I could remember the number plate.

3. My favourite plant is my little Gingko tree that I got at the Hampton Court Flower Show a couple of years ago. It's one that will grow in a pot for years!

4. I would love to write a book, but have 4 published and successful writers in the family so feel very intimidated and never start!

5. I love sitting on a beach and watching people, especially Sandymouth beach which has a fab cafe at the top.

6. I hate the fact my neighbour always puts his rubbish bags in front of my house - petty I know but it annoys me every week.

7. I would really love to go to the moon and look down on the earth, but am very scared of flying so even if it was possible, I'm not sure I'd get there!

Hope that's not too much of a disappointment after waiting so long Pondside!

Re:
Faith's Avatar No. 6 - Every week just go and move the bags back to jhe front of his house, or, more simply, move the bags and drop a polite little note in his door 'I would be grateful if you wouldnt put your rubbish bags in front of my house, thanks'

No. 2 - Love it!

Re:
Exmoorjane's Avatar Ooooh, can you name your writers? or the kind of books they write? Why on earth not write your own book? Please don't let other people stop you doing what you would love to do.
Sandymouth Beach sounds lovely - must look on map. Love beaches with cafes (Putsborough is good for that - though gets crowded in summer).
Your cat and car rhyme!

Re:
Milla's Avatar yes, tell us your writers!!! Totally understand moon thing. Beach sounds adorable. Rubbish bags v annoying - they probably did it for ages and you didn't notice, but the moment you do, slaughter's too good for them!

Re:
Sandymouth is the best beach. It has huge cliffs and huge amounts of sand at low tide (derrr), but at high tide there is no beach at all so tide times have to be carefully checked!
The writers - well one is a children's author and really well know, 2 are now dead (grandfathers) both well known in their fields, and one is a sort of cousin - cousin's daughter, no idea what relative that is, but anyway she writes for one of the weekend broadsheets on a regular basis

Re:
Milla's Avatar cousin's daughter is first cousin once removed. And the children's author.... agog here and, I guess, in Exmoor.

Re:
Cait's Avatar You must write a book if that is what you want to do. Forget everyone else.
I've just got back from our book group meeting where we discussed nearly every children's author, wonder if we discussed your relative?

I call my car TONTO for much the same reason as you.
You may be too young to remember Tonto?

Re:
Pondside's Avatar Thank you! I am patient, and I knew you'd come in from the garden one day! Great list - so interesting to learn the odd facts about one another.

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Get to writing a book, you have nothing to lose, don't worry what others might say. I just wish I had more time to write.

Going to the Moon sounds wonderful, but I would be hopeless, I have a very strong fear of flying.

What a bloomin cheek about your neighbour putting his rubbish outside front of your house, how inconsiderate is that.

Re:
Ivy's Avatar Write that book and use a pseudonym if you don't want your family to know.
