Cowart's Common Room
Mrs Tiggy Winkle

I hang my pea nuts and black sunflower seeds from the clothes line over this bit of gravel. Mrs T has discoveres that bits of nut fall and she has been 2 nights running to forage! I will get a tin of cat or dog food next time I am in a shop to top up her supper.

Milla's Avatar sweetums. Had the shock of my life one night E was away - typically - with the loudest snufflings and snortings and crunchings. Got quite scared and, yup, it was a hedgehog. Probably covered in fleas though.

Faith's Avatar Yup they are covered in fleas but never mind, the cutest things arent they? Wish I had one in our garde. Well done on the picture Withy!

Westerwitch's Avatar Yes we have one too - a hedgehog that is not Milla's fleas . . .Twisted Evil

I buy cat food for our little visitor and also brought a hedgehog mix from my bird seed people. The only trouble is the mice like it too . . .Evil or Very Mad

Fennie's Avatar Imagine having fleas and not being able to scratch.

Mountainear's Avatar Super picture. The dog carried one in last night. Ouch! I had to carry it out wearing gardening gloves it was so spiky.

Preseli Mags's Avatar Gorgeous! What a lovely hedgehog. I want one! Actually I could do with several hundred, but we don't have them in this part of Pembrokeshire (or only very rarely). I love them because they are cute, of course, but pugger the flea problem, they eat slugs!

Exmoorjane's Avatar I want one too. Very VERY few hedgehogs round here.....Sad

KittyB's Avatar How fantastic - we seem to have no hedgehogs, probably because of all the badgers.
What beautiful photos, what an obliging Mrs Tiggywinkle.

What a picture she is! Great close up shots.

I've seen lots of wildlife since moving here but, alas, no hedgehogs!

Lucky you.

Withy Brook's Avatar I shall be careful how much I feed her/him - I need him/her to eat my slugs!

Pondside's Avatar Too cute!! We don't have these over here - just ugly old porcupines. I'd like to see a real Mrs Tiggy Winkle!

Camilla's Avatar Gorgoues pictures of Miss Tiggywinkle, I just love Hedgehogs, although we don't see them in our garden anymore.

Frances's Avatar I really do like that close up, and once again find myself being educated by you all. I had no idea that hedgehogs had fleas, and love the comment about their not being able to scratch!
