Cowart's Common Room
Tomorrow is the time to start..

Just a quick reminder that tomorrow is the time to start making comments on 'A Thousand Splendid Suns' by Khaled Hosseini, the Purple Book Club Spring Read. I know a lot of people enjoyed this book and I'm hoping to see some positive comments before I make mine, maybe you'll get me to change my mind.

Re:
Frances's Avatar Early confession, I did try to read this book before it got the nomination, and had to return it to the library. I couldn't get beyond the early chapters. Sorry, if it turns out to be a coo fave. I have such few hours for reading, I have to choose which pages to turn very carefully.

Re:
KittyB's Avatar Mine hasn't come from the library either, but I think I'm going to cancel it - I just have a feeling I'm not going to like it. I am so pushed for reading time that it has to be relatively easy/light to get me drawn in at the moment. So I will pass this time but hopefully join in next time.

Re:
Milla's Avatar I haven't read it as know that one of my 2 real-people (!) bookclubs will chose it in due course (what do I mean - you;re not real!!!) and they all get really cross with me because I read more than them and sometimes dare to read big obvious books currently on the go. Am still in the naughty corner for reading Atonement. I get cross with THEM for only reading one book a month, many of them, so they expect all the Bookers / popular choices to be held back until they are ready and we can do it for bookgroup. Does this make sense? I did adore the Kite Runner, though, even if it was a coincidence too far at the end and thoroughly expect to adore this one too. Only not just yet.
