Cowart's Common Room
Translation please

I'll repeat my question here, as it is just sort of hanging on the end of UPL's horrifying report on the state of the English language.
"What is a 'Beeb'?"

Westerwitch's Avatar The wonderful BBC - HS worked for them in Glasgow and we thank them very much for the voluntary redundancy they gave him . . .

Milla's Avatar Same here, WW, I scooped a nice voluntary redundancy when pregnant with T11. Felt bad - public money and all that - but really, they only had themselves to blame having "forgotten" that when the cricket is on, they have to produce double programming, Test Match Special on Long Wave and normal progs on FM, thereby needing to save 1M to claw back the necessary cash to fund it. Since they'd been doing it for about 60 years, it was all rather unimpressive.

Frances's Avatar Over here in New York, I definitely know what Beeb is.

And, thanks to my lovely laptop, can listen to it while I write and read and click on this site.
