Cowart's Common Room

Right then, hands up all those who have had too many Brandy Slammers at the Christmas Party. Anyone feeling a tad sick, oooh, fear it will be "hair of the dog" for you. Pondside, look forward to your yummy breakfast later this morning, thank you.

Have just come back from my daughter's, she rang and asked if I would like to pop over for the evening. Cerikey, it's like "pea soup" out there, seriously foggy, and quite icy on the roads. Luckily daughter lives only ten minutes by car, but it took me longer because of fog and ice.

Now back home with hot tea, and have just toasted some muffins on the fire, will probably have indigestion all night now.

Faith - I have just read your Blog, absolutely wonderful, I think as Crystal has said, we need to keep this for all time at Purplecoo.

If you can't sleep and there are others on line then have a natter here.

Night Night, & Sweet Dreams.

Pondside's Avatar Hi Camilla and Frances
It looks as though there was a lot going on here today! Over three hundred posts!
I have had a busy day at work and then in the grocery store, picking up things for the weekend.
It's pretty cold here, but no snow now, which makes me happyVery Happy

Frances's Avatar Don't know about western Canada, but New York is just regular beginning of winter cold.

We probably won't have more snow until late January or February if the usual routine holds.

Now it will just be a bit grim, as we wait for the sun to lengthen our days. Meanwhile, we will rejoice in the electric light displays for the holiday.

Wish me luck with the next three days at the shop before we do actually close for Christmas day. The three could be quiet for quite frenzied. No way to tell now.

Glad that you drove safely through the fog, Camilla.

Pondside's Avatar I well remember my days in women's retail, and these last three days before Christmas were completely mad - husbands and boyfriends. Is it this way in the your shop? matter what the size of the saleswoman, she is "about your size" according to the male shopper! Too funny!

Frances's Avatar Hello to Canada,

Yes, that is what they say. But we have a secret help. If the wife, mother, whatever is a regular customer, we can look up her "history" and find out her size/s, color preferences, all sorts of helpful stuff.

It really does make it easier for the gents.

The shop has been doing so well this month, that we are about to run out of our gift boxes. That is actually good news.

Best wishes to Pierre.

Hoping that all your running around this month has not done any damage to that fragile back of yours.

Fennie's Avatar Camilla you post such lovely pics and cards on your goodnight chat post that it's almost worth staying up for them. But I'm too sleepy then. Nevertheless, just wanted to say thanks for all the colour and love and caring you bring to the site. Happy Christmas, Love Fenniexx

Camilla's Avatar Thank you Frances,

I am the worst worrier when it comes to driving in bad weather conditions, but one can only go so slow for fear of nasty accident. More fog again this evenng apparantly, but will be staying at home tonight.

See you on Owl post Frances, how I would love to have one of those beautiful gift boxes from shop.

Camilla's Avatar Thank you Dear Westerwitch, EmbarassedSo happy to do cards, thanks once again.

Sounds as if you have got rough weather up in Scotland, even so I bet Perthshire looks wonderful with it's beautiful scenery. Keep nice and warm.
