Cowart's Common Room
Book Club Party

Uploaded Image

Groan just back from an Xmas meal. This one was a joint bash for the TWO book clubs in our village and they are now looking to start a third as so many people want to join. I don't belong to either, but get invited along every year and gently pushed to start another club. But my loyalties are with our own book club . . .and I don't have time at the moment to join in with that - well done to Lampworkbeader though for all her brilliant efforts.

So I am now going to take my horribly over full stomach (the food was plentiful and excellent as was the wine) to bed. Although not too confident of sleep just yet as I had a cup of coffee to finish off the meal. AND I had a pudding of Xmas pudding - which is a real treat as no-one in our household eats XMAS PUDDING - so my Xmas is puddingless on that front . . . sigh . . . .Oh I do wish I hadn't eaten quite so much . . . or drank so much . . . Camilla's Avatar Thank you Dear Westerwitch,

I love that Cat picture asleep with Mouse.

I feel that I should give more time to the Book Club, I love Books, but do not seem to have time lately in catching up with reading. Yes, well done to Lampworkbeader for all her brilliant efforts with this.

Ooh, hope you do not get dreaded indigestion Westerwitch, and I LOVE Christmas Pud, yum. Hope you eventually manage to get a good night's sleep though.

Night Night, & Sweet Dreams.

Frances's Avatar Christmas pudding!

That is something that I always used to send along to my family in Virginia. It was sort of a tradition that I tried to get to take root. The family loved to eat it, with brandied butter sauce.

But no one besides me ever wanted to be the supplier!

Ahh. Families.

I may just have to go out into the big City of New York tomorrow (day off) in search of a traditional Christmas pudding. Bet that I find one.

Withy Brook's Avatar The main reason I have for eating Christmas pudding is the Brandy butter. Lots and lots of brandy. And a large quantity poured over (previously warmed) and lit so's one can do at least one circuit of the table. I pour on so much that the pud really oozes with it. Of course the brandy butter goes well with mince pies too.
