Re:
Withy Brook's Avatar Don't fret - it will only be the first few who will notice anything. If there is stuff all over the carpet, just shove it behind the sofa - after you have pushed it back.

Re:
Exmoorjane's Avatar Bung tons of cointreau in the mulled wine (yes, it's expensive but worth it as after a couple of glasses nobody will want food or indeed anything else and will get exceedingly merry and have a fab time!). Wish I could come!!!

Re:
Ivy's Avatar So do I ! Especially after the cleaner just called me to tell me she had a stomach bug and did I want her to come tomorrow? Her husband (God bless him) suggested to phone me to tell me that first he, than their son, and now she had/has it .. Well you can guess my answer ans I have only tomorrow to tidy all the mess up because we are going to the country for Christmas... fortunately I do not have to work after all tomorrow night............. (why do people always have to raise alarm before they think properly?) sorry to have hijacked your thread can I have something to drink? Just a drop of something strong will do as I don't usually drink alcohol at all. Better do some housework now.

Re:
Elizabethm's Avatar I suggest swathes of holly and ivy and candles - can't see any mess then! have a great time. We will be entertaining parents, the first of the parade of people traipsing through over Christmas and New Year. Really looking forward to it now - the bit I like best is when you get to that point on christmas eve when all the shops are shut and its too late to do any more and you hunker down by the fire and look at the tree.

Westerwitch's Avatar Ask people to bring a contribution and you will supply the mulled wine and the mince pies.

Then sit them all round the computer for tomorrow night's Purplecoo Xmas party . . . Very HappyVery HappyVery Happy

Re:
Frances's Avatar Oh Bodran, do listen to ww's advice, but please do what you find just the easiest and most comfy for you.

How I do wish that I could be at the party.

Know that it will be splendid.

Any chance that ... way after the party, we might see what your Christmas tree will look like. After you are the someone around these parts who really, really understands trees.
