Cowart's Common Room
A romantic gesture

Having been just handed a large black box with the words "Newton: the power of ideas" and roughly told: "Jus' thought you'd like these." by a slighly worse for wear Dear Charlie. I wondered if anyone else had had a romantic gesture recently...
Do you think you'd notice one if you saw it? And do you think if you look for Romance you can find it? Is romance like God - in the little things?

Re:
Elizabethm's Avatar Ian's version of romantic gesture: walking up to open the gate so I dont have to get out of the car; bringing me a cup of tea in bed; ironing my blouses as well as his shirts. He does flowers about once in every ten years. I can't honestly say I wouldn't appreciate the occasional grand passionate gesture but I suspect the constant small ones are the stuff of life.

Re:
Westerwitch's Avatar Despite not liking too many animals in the house because of the restrictions on us when we want to go out for the day,or away for the weekend. and because sadly HS does not share my love of animals . . . HS still went out and bought me a very large fish tank for my Birthday to house a very special creature who is coming to live with us from Sunday onwards . . I will introduce you properly once he is here and settled.

HS was originally very much against this creature being here - but because he knew how much it meant to me he has gone all out to be supportive.

Re:
Unpeuloufoque's Avatar Blow bunches of flowers its the little things that show they love you, the things money cant buy like going out late on a wednesday night in the dark to chainsaw some logs when the log basket gets empty and remebering to put the kiln bungs in at just after midnight so you dont have to get up to do it!

Re:
Pipany's Avatar Oh too many to mention; bit of a lucky girl here as Dave is very romantic - little gestures like giving me a massage if I am tense, writing me a poem or two, cooking a romantic meal. I could go on but to be honest it is the fact that a cuddle by candlelight, watching a film by the fire and just being happy to be there makes him my perfect romantic choice (sorry for gushing!!!) xx

Re:
Tattie Weasle's Avatar I think we all like the little things - so why do we get so upset about the missed big ones? Is it a girl thing or is it outside pressure???
