Cowart's Common Room
Publisher Setback

I was going to announce that I had got my second book contract under my belt, but I've just heard that the publishing company are unable to officially sign on any new titles before the end of January next year...hummm. So I shall keep on with the NaNoWriMo novel, which is now 71,500 words (I've fallen behind on the word production this month - not surprisingly what with Xmas in the way!)...and I've posted another children's tale on my other blog...that's why I haven't been around much lately - I'm missing Purplecoo...x

Re:
ChrisH's Avatar Sorry to hear this news - it's a fickle business, isn't it? You've worked really hard on your novel... and I'm STILL slogging away at mine so haven't been around much either. Best wishes for 2008, Chris

Re:
Westerwitch's Avatar Oooooo it is always so annoying when the goal sneaks away from you - still we can all celebrate once you have your new book officially signed up. But good for you with the 71,500 . . . um I have done nothing on my new book or the re-write on my 'old' one . . .after Xmas - life starts a new after Xmas.

Re:
Pondside's Avatar That's frustrating, I"m sure.....but you'll have good news in the new year!

Re:
Fennie's Avatar Yes, I guess it's just a programming sort of thingy. Be assumptive and ask for the draft contract so you can peruse it and make sure it's OK to sign in January. Well done on the NaNoWriMo - I have just got around to finding a story. But even if they have another comp, I doubt I'd find the time to write it. What I do think would be fun though is if we all wrote the same novel - say 200 words a day and we went through the alphabet (of those who volunteer) each writing 200 words in sequence.

Re:
Cait's Avatar If it's Jan 2008 it's not far away, either way it will be good news in the end.

Re:
Cait's Avatar Fennie. re your group novel idea.... our library writing group is doing this at the moment, but it's taking time as some members are a bit slower than others in passing it on. It would be great if we did a Purplecoo novel, anyone else up for it? @the mill at the ready..?

Re:
Mootia's Avatar Thank you all - yes, not long to wait, I guess. Hopefully they will be in the position to go ahead then...could be a good idea to write a Purplecoo novel - 200 words each sounds like a plan!
