Westerwitch's Avatar Gasp . . .I've done all my cards - well except a couple. I have bought all my presents . . yey . . .still have to wrap them though and the ones ordered on line aren't here yet . . .gulp . . .Have managed to post of parcels I need to.

Doing the tree for us and for the cottage today and tomorrow . . . have got most of the food . . .

So actually apart from stress levels now on the moon - I am actually getting there.

Re:
Preseli Mags's Avatar Stressed levels have dipped slightly on the Preselis. Cinderella and Beach Barbie have survived two performances of the Christmas show (just one left tonight) and Amazon turned up yesterday with the vital bits for Santa. I can stop holding my breath now - disaster has been averted!

Re:
Ivy's Avatar I am still waiting for one item from Amazon after this Chrismas packing can be declared completed.
The red cabbage is cooking while I write and will be put into the freezer tonight the joint has been ordered. so far ,everything is organized but I know that, like every year ,something will crop up last minute. One of the kids telling me on the 23rd that he/she still has no present for granny/godmother.... or something like that.

Re:
Frances's Avatar Yesterday morning before going to work, I joined hundreds, yes hundreds, of other procratinators in a package-mailing queue at my local Post Office. The queue's snakey formation was a wonder, but it did move steadily forward.

I had taken along a book, so got lots of chapters read, and managed to stay away from the rising tension and nasty comments from my fellow package-mailers. Even got to the shop a bit early...to discover our weekly cleaners had not showed up at all.

But otherwise the day was pretty good. And I don't need to visit the P.O. again until the New Year!

Re:
Woolyworks's Avatar Only stressed about the road trip. Not a lot of high expectations about being true to traditions and I still have an extra week with our own family celebration being on New Year. Hang in there everyone!! Enjoy it now, because January and February are desperately cold and boring months!

Re:
Pondside's Avatar Dahling! I am completely serene - have made my own Christmas cakes, handcrafted all my gifts, decked the house with organically grown greenery, handwritten cards to one and all, decked the tree at the old folks home, changed all the bed linen to Christmas themed flannel sheets, bathed the dog and given her a temporary red dye job, found the perfect Christmas sweaters for the whole family (did I tell you that my children - both gifted, naturally - have excelled in their fields again this year!), I've polished the heirloom silver, baked and frozen the dinner roles for Christmas dinner, slaughtered, plucked and cleaned the organically raised bird, wrappped all the tasteful and thougthfully made gifts in paper that I made myself this year - handstamped with dies made from the bounty of the fields around the ponds - I've arranged for carolers to appear at 8 pm on Christmas Eve - each will be holding a candle I dipped myself. Have I forgotten anything? I don't think so. I'm as organized this year as I am every year - really, with just a little effort.........I'

Re:
Ivy's Avatar Well January is not boring here.
2.1. my sisters birthday
4.1. my FIL's birthday
18.1. my own birthday
30.1. my mums birthday
5.2. my nieces birthday
24.2. one friend and two friends of my daughter's birthday.

Do I need to mention that I am glad when march comes with only my Mil and son's birthdays evenly streched out one on the second one on the 27th?
