Cowart's Common Room
3 mini gurus in my pocket

Morning everyone!

If you are anything like me you are beginning to feel very hassled by now - so much still to do, so little time. I still havent got all presents, or finished food shopping, decorating etc though we did get the tree up last night.

While you rush round maybe you would like 3 tiny people in your pocket who you could pull out to advise you when the going gets tough - sorry you can only choose famous people!

I would def have Gok Wan as one of mine - I need an outfit for a party on Sunday!

Over to you.....

Re:
Fennie's Avatar Ho Ho Ho! Why am I wasting my time naughtily on this?

But will you send me please: the Jane Shilling guri, for services to writing, the Nigella Lawson guru to service my culinary and domestic decadence and for everything else the spirit of someone who combines nobility and gentleness, kindness with sagacity, elegance with a beautiful voice, and poise with charm and gentility.

I imagine her played by Fanny Ardant, (for she must have died around 1780) but she is La Princesse de Chalais, Talleyrand's grandmother and from whom he learnt his life skills. Perhaps I shall write a blog about her sometime.

Re:
I don't know many peace and tranquility guru's but I could do with a few of them right now!

On the cooking and domestic front I have always been a Delia Smith fan. Can't change me after all these years. 'Delia Smiths Christmas' is still my bible...

Kevin McCloud is the other guru I have masses of respect for. Although not sure he can help me at this time of year! But he is such a hero. Would love to have dinner with him too-would be so interesting.

Re:
Preseli Mags's Avatar For peace and tranquility I'd definitely have Tanya Byron from 'House of Tiny Tearaways' to help me deal with my two very excited children!

Then I'd need either Delia or Jamie to help with the food. I will shortly be dusting off my copy of 'Delia Smith's Christmas' too!

Thirdly, I'd like Paul Mckenna. He said he could make me thin, and it (sort of) did. Now he claims to be able to make people rich. That'd help at this time of year!

Re:
Cait's Avatar Nigella the cooking fairy. She must be on hand at all times.

Two fairies to clean and polish for me and decorate where necessary. May they make everything shining and bright! I don't want those women that clean houses on TV so don't suggest them.

A 'delivery-in-an-instant' fairy, (tall dark and handsome?) to bring me straightaway whatever I order on the Internet (too late as always) as gifts. I am thinking about who I would like it to be.

Oh and I am going to be very naughty and add one more.
A Money Fairy, much needed at this time of year! Alvin whatsisname? or Martin Lewis? but they would have to produce money out of the air just for me......not advise me on budgeting.

Faith, I am sorry they are not all humans. Only fairies can do some things don't you think?

Re:
hmmm, tricky, I think I need a battalion! Oh lets not go there , Ill get all swoony thinking about uniforms ...

For when I need reassurance, Grandma Pentelow, she always made me feel I was special, no matter how much my self esteem faltered.

Aggie whateverhernameis who seems to thrive on house work and ironing, she would definitely be pressed into service, Ive just spent 5 hours and blistered my hands ironing all the sofa covers and linens I washed at the weekend (yeh ok my hands are too soft, and not used to graft)

And then there's Rachel, my lady with healing hands who I see for reflexology and a massage for 2 hours once a fortnight, I'd love to see her more often, she manages to soothe away aches , pains and stress in a magical way, It would be wonderful to access than on demand!
