Cowart's Common Room
A Life In The Day Of

Just chatting to Pondside and discovered we share an interest in the way other people oranise their lives and how they live, We thought it would be fascinating to do a Life in the Day of blog each - in alphabetical order down the blog list (so we can keep up with them- I would never get time to read them all at once)- either in the common room or as a blog. What do you think and which would be the best way to do it if we did?

Blossomcottage's Avatar Great idea, alphabetical one each day in the Common Room sounds good to me.

Pondside's Avatar Grouse, this is a brilliant idea! If we do it alphabetically we'll be able to keep track of where we've left off reading. I hope others will be interested in doing this - after all, is there anyone more interesting than we all are????????

It might work in the forum, as those notes don't disappear, although putting it in a blog would allow for photos. What do others think?

Grouse's Avatar Photos would be nice. The common room is still accessible in archive and as you say, we want to keep track and not miss someone.

Cait's Avatar Great idea, if I understand it......... do you mean I have to write about a day in my life? Sorry I have only just got excuse as I am a bit dimSmile

Faith's Avatar Fun idea! and as i'm finishing the 3 things at Christmas it will be an ideal new game!

Here is best - it will be in the archive and you can put pics. If everyone puts the same thing in the title, and then their name it will be easy to find and see whose you've read.

ie. Day in the Life of: Faith

(mine won't make thrilling reading though!)

Oh Gawd, this is when I really regret not finding out more about how a blog name worked when I set out on this ridiculously addictive, time consuming/wasting past time. Now explain to me what I have to do?

Posted by: @themill on 12th Dec 2007 at 08:41AM

Faith's Avatar All you have to do, as soon in the New Year as you are ready, is put up a post on here, Common Room, entitled A Day in the Life of @themill (with or without a photo) telling us about your typical day! Easy innit!

Withy Brook's Avatar That is a lovely site, Unpeu. You and I will have lots of time to see the different approaches to the idea, won't we? A normal day is pretty boring in my life. I wonder how many people will stick to that criteria!!

Preseli Mags's Avatar Brilliant idea! I was just off to change my name to Zola (which would be last, after Zoe) but, if you're going backwards, I better change my name to @ardvark!

Ivy's Avatar Any day or a special day.? You'd be bored stiff if it was an ordinary week day like today.

Posted by: Ivy on 12th Dec 2007 at 06:53PM

Grouse's Avatar For those of you whodont get the Sunday Times, 'Life In The Day is a capsule, so not one day but a description of a lifestyle. So those of you with 2 or more homes would describe all. Contrast summer with winter, livestock in, livestock out, children at home,/ children at school/with other parent and so on: its not just 'today I got up late, looked at the weather, went back to bed'.....and dont forget the weekends. A bit of your philosophy on life and what you eat is essential. And what about new members? I think any who join should be invited to do it next if they have missed their alphabetical slot.

Withy Brook's Avatar Quite a project - but you only have to do it once and well worth it when you can read all those others. NO WAY should we start at the bottom say I! Twisted Evil

Fennie's Avatar Do you think we ought to have word limits? If so what? Or some framework of questions that we all addressed.

Posted by: Fennie on 12th Dec 2007 at 09:54PM

Camilla's Avatar Excellent idea Grouse, er, I'm number nine, phew.! Quite fun, I would hope for a normal day without packing of boxes.!

KittyB's Avatar Sounds good - very interesting. I know we all think our own lives are just sooooo dull, but if we all want to read about everyone else - it stands to reason that others will want to read about ours, no? Your dull is my daring perhaps! Will be very enlightening.

Posted by: KittyB on 13th Dec 2007 at 07:42AM

Goodo, theres about 90 before my name! You will all have got bored and wondered off onto something else by then, hehehe, perfect. I will have forgotten to do it by then too! Yay, a result.
