Cowart's Common Room
3 things the Borrowers take

Morning everyone!

Todays three things are the things you are lose or are always running out of.

1. Pens. I can never find one but we bring loads into the house!
2. Toilet paper. What do they (the Borrowers) use it for? AND i always forget to buy it!
3. Car keys - usually at the bottom of my rummage sack in the end.

Over to you....

Re:
This is so easy for me-my little one has the same magpie tendencies as me and LOVES crafting.

Just 5 minutes ago I was looking for the Scissors, Sellotape and my silver or gold pen!
He is busy making his Christmas cards if you please!!

Re:
Pens - Ditto

Car keys - lost the remote key this time last year and it's never yet turned up. It's going to cast me £120 to get a replacement and I know that if I do spend all that money I'll find the things the next day!

Re:
Toady's Avatar My specs. I can spend hours wandering the house looking for them while they're on the the top of my head.
Kitchen scissors. I'm very precious with my sewing scissors, but the kitchen ones are always disappearing.
Remote controls. These can vanish in seconds - they've got legs.

Re:

Odd Socks from the washing
Cutlery and yes I agree TV controls.

Re:
Milla's Avatar All of these, especially keys. Despite having a jaunty box on the wall, i always forget to use it and just dump them down. Ditto mobile phone which I spend half my time ringing from the home phone to locate. And yes, so agree about kitchen scissors, have endless pairs which end up ... where?!?! and the remotes which have legs of their own. And my boots which could be anywhere.

Re:
Glasses are my bete noire , iGit reckons they should be stapled to my head!

Scissors ... LittleBird is very aquisative with these.

Odd socks too, there is a willow basket in the utility room full of them, some I don't even recognise as being socks that belong here in the first place! Maybe I have some of everyone elses ?

Re:
Preseli Mags's Avatar 1. My diary. It must have somethign interesting in it that the borrowers like to read! At the moment they've also got my calculator. Probably working out how broke I am!

2. My car keys. The borrowers usually put them in my husband's pocket. Then he takes them to work in Carmarthen.

3. Small toys that H or R MUST have at bedtime. The house must be torn apart to find them. Mischievous little fuggers, these borrowers!

Re:
Crystal Jigsaw's Avatar Definitely socks! The farmer and I share a sock drawer (how romantic) and everyday we have the same problem. We have done so for the past six and a half years, you'd think I'd separate them by now.

Cash.

Paper for Amy to draw on.

Have a great weekend everyone, I'm off to Manchester till Sunday. Love Crystal xx

Re:
Pipany's Avatar 1. Socks....

2. Sellotape + scissors

3. My brain - sure I had one once and it even had a memory....I think

Re:
Mountainear's Avatar Glasses, hand trowels and secateurs.....I keep my glasses on the top of my head and buy cheap trowels by the handful and leave them strategically placed around the garden. Secateurs are always going missing - and I can't afford to bulk buy them.

Some years ago and because I could never find a tape measure when I wanted one I bought 10 at 50p each from B & Q and left one in each room of the house - they have systematically found their way into Alan's shed. And I still am unable to find one when I want one. (I did though buy one of those flowery girly ones - thinking that a Man would never be seen

Re:
Cait's Avatar As well as what I posted before I agree also with sellotape, glasses when not on my head, garden trowel, good idea to keep them all round the garden Mountainear, kitchen scissors, my memory. Isn't it odd how we all get the same things stolen by those Borrowers?
Keys are so easliy misplaced, I leaned my lesson on that one and always, religiously, keep them in their special place.
(Ikea give away tape measures)

Re:
Milla's Avatar sellotape - the trick is to buy one of those monster dispensers full of sand (office type) - just doesn't go missing. No one can face picking it up. Unlike glasses (have about half a dozen sunglasses and goodness knows WHERE they get to)

Re:
Faith's Avatar I'll tell you a missing sock story. When I moved into my old house I found 27 different single socks - behind the radiators, behind the tank in the airing cupboard. You'd have thought the previous owners must have missed some of them!
