Cowart's Common Room

Well I logged on alright, but then for a while I had difficulty waiting for comments to pop up, phew, that's a relief.

Quite a lot of rain here today, took Daisy for a walk but made sure I had my boots on, mud everywhere. Ah, that's life for you in the country.

Jane - Hoping your days will soon be a little more stress free, but so sorry to hear that your Mother has an infection. Do hope she will make a speedy recovery, my best wishes to her Jane.

Zoe - So sorry to hear you are a tad down at present, sending you my love and hugs.

If you can't sleep and there are others on line then have a natter here.

Night Night, & Sweet Dreams.

Camilla's Avatar Hello Frances,

How are the sales going at the shop? Hopefully customers are coming in by the "droves" to select for festive period.

Frances's Avatar Hello to you, Camilla, your post has only just appeared! Great to see Santa Claus resting his feet.

I have been resting my feet today, and will have another day off tomorrow. (Not really resting today because I was all over town doing Christmas shopping and other errands, but at least not standing up in the shop.)

Business has been great. I continue to pursue, at all areas within the company and with the local police, how to better protect the staff and customers from not so gentle visitors within our area.

Yesterday I tried out my latest outfit from the current styles:
A winter white woolen tunic-length jacket, embroidered crewel-style in more winter white with an overall floral design.

The jacket is buttoned in covered buttons, and it has old-fashioned covered button-holes, too. I felt that the collarless neckline was a bit too open, so I filled with with a generous swath of a ruby red lacy-knit silk mohair scarf. My intention was to affect a western wintery version of a classic Indian silhouette.

Imagine what it was like towards the end of a very busy day, to find myself talkling with and helping the famous Indian film director Mira Nair. The store at that point was so busy that it was on the edge of chaos, so I asked Ms Nair if she would forgive us and perhaps use that moment as inspiration for a scene in a future movie. She graciously laughed and said, why not?

Camilla, please do go to sleep! Hoping that the weather will be grand tomorrow.

Camilla's Avatar Oh Frances, I am very impressed re Christmas shopping, I usually leave everything to the last minute, then make a mad dash to sort things.

The ensemble of clothes you have chosen to wear in shop sounds absolutely fabulous. I love the colour White for winter, and to dress it with the beautiful scarf is good accessory to outfit.

Would be interesting to learn if Ms Nair would use that moment of inspiration in future movie, how exciting with celebrity.

Enjoy your rest tomorrow Frances, you deserve some chilled out moments. Glad to know that business is great.

Forgive, will try and catch up with blogs hopefully at the weekend Frances.

Sweet Dreams.
