Cowart's Common Room

What have I done? What thing out there in the ether have I offended?

Today's disaster (after the knacker man had been to pick up the dead ewe) was an almighty clap of thunder followed by a thunderbolt which hit the Dutch barn. Luckily it missed Hywel working out there on his tractor stacking round bales in said barn. Luckily it missed my husband who was happily chainsawing logs in the other shed. Both saw lots of blue sparks.

What it did hit was my new digital telephone and answer machine. So new that I hadn't quite got around to reading the instruction book yet. So Wraaarrgh! Or words to that effect.

Cait's Avatar Poor you Mags, I'm sure things are on the up for you now.
We had one flash of lightning and one big clap of thunder this morning. Glad you and H were safe anyway.

Frances's Avatar Wow. That is an amazing event.
Glad that you got to get past it and were able to tell of it.
I live in a city that sometimes defines itself by its artificial qualities.

What I read here really "grounds" me.

Milla's Avatar I think I said on your blog that you must have had your 3. Seems not! And, as WW said, at least you didn't waste time on the wretched manual. Thank goodness the men weren't turned into toast!
