Cowart's Common Room
3 things I didnt used to like but now I LOVE

Morning everyone!

Tastes and opinions change, so what do you love now that never used to interest you? Interpret how you wish!

I can think of two off the top of my head:

1. Dogs - I was afraid of them as a child, saw them as sh*t machines when I was older, and it wasnt until we got Yorkie after years of pleading from Em that I fell in love and am now his humble servant.

2. Rooibos tea (red bush) - couldnt understand how anyone could like the revolting stuff. Tried a cup, hated it, tried another, dislked it, and a long time later, tried another and am now hooked!

Over to you ....

Ivy's Avatar spinach hated it as a kid until I ate my first spinach in Italy and found out it does not have to leave a feel on your teeth that resembles sanding paper.

dogs until I watched those delightful PJRT puppies on British day in Hamburg 5 1/2 years ago and got hooked (Ivy is 5 1/4 !)

Chamomile tea thought it was for stomach bugs and babies but find it quite nice now.

Pipany's Avatar 1. Olives - hated them but now just love them, particularly stuffed with almonds. Mmm.

2. Dahlias - thought they were pointless when I was younger and now adore them, from the bedding ones which remind me of children's drawings to the tall ones. My faves are when they are grown in a huge, tangled, multi-coulured mass....lovely.

3. Mulled wine - loathed it until about the age of nine (tee hee). Live on it all through December hic.. xx

KittyB's Avatar Mushrooms, olives, and occasionally I'm brave enough even to try fish that's not battered and deep fried. It's all about being grown up I have discovered. I have tried to like blue cheese and I feel deeply babyish because I don't like it, but I just can't get away with it, gag, gag...

Westerwitch's Avatar Used to keep all sorts of mammals, birds, reptiles etc . . . I now personally think it is cruel to cage animals.

Used to hate mince as a child - now love it - especially as shepherd's pie.

Couldn't understand why anyone wanted to smoke - am now still struggling with giving it up.

Preseli Mags's Avatar 1. This may sound odd, but I used to hate bootleg jeans. After years of living in jophurs, bootlegs felt really flappy and odd. Now I love them (the bottoms help balance out the top!)

2. Whiskey. Used to hate it. Then spoiled it with lemonade. Now I adore single malt.

3. Broad beans. I think this was because Grandad used to wait until they were big and meaty before picking them. Mum used to freeze them by the ton and I hated the leathery skins. I've now discovered that if picked when the beans are still babies, they are ambrosia.
