Cowart's Common Room
For Frances

Hi Frances - I promised you two things.

1) That I would never take our Hedgehog visitor for granted . . . and I haven't. I feed him every night as he is too small to make it through the Winter. And yes this could be seen as interfering - then again he could have been sent my way to take care of . . I choose the latter.

2) I promised you a photograph . . and here it is - taken last night at 1.00 am . . .

Re:
Suffolkmum's Avatar Oh he's lovely. I haven't seen one for ages, we too have too many badgers around here.

Re:
LittleBrownDog's Avatar Oooh, he's beautiful, WW! Obviously feels very at home with you. Does he have anywhere to live? Apparently lots of hedgehogs perish over the winter because there aren't enough snug, safe holes for them to hibernate in any more.

Re:
Withy Brook's Avatar Good on yer WW. Hope he/she survives the winter.

Re:
Frances's Avatar Well, look at all the folks who saw this beautiful photo of this remarkable little animal before me.

Thank you so very much ww. That little hedgehog is a very lucky hedgehog, says I.

I am going to try to find some sort of free time soon (so I hope) and will come back to this image, because it is so dear and I would like to somehow work it into my artwork. Not sure how. But surely my very first dedicated beautiful photo of a hedgehog of the Scottish persuasion, well, it just calls out to my almost dormant creative urge. (Wintertime can mean dormancy for artists, as much as any other season.)

Really, truly, thank you! xo

Re:
Cowgirl's Avatar He is a darling! Love Hedgepigs as Mum used to call them. We seem to have quite a few here but Josh is not good to them and I have to rescue them often. He doesn't mean it but they fascinate him and he tends to bark them to death...poor things. Little twinkly eyes, look at them! Aahhh.

Am feeling very feeble, not a good invalid at all. Spots fading though, just feel weak and listless. Not like me at all. May I wake tomorrow a better day.
