Cowart's Common Room
Where did we go wrong?

Phone call from step son:
"What does a swede look like?"
Obviously his new lady has sent him shopping, poor lamb.
He is 30 years old, university education!
I think I had better not tell her he rang.

Faith's Avatar Now if I'd had that call, I'd have probably answered - tall, blond, blue eyed!

I blame his mother!
Though I did once have a phone call from Firstborn when he was guarding the croft whilst we were on holiday. He wanted to know how to gut a chicken. I did not ask him how it died but did talk him through the process. He almost waivered when he realised that the inside of said bird was still warm. But lust for meat helped him finish the job

Mountainear's Avatar It never seems to matter how far away and how old they are.....when the the call comes: 'mum, how do you?.....' you talk them through shortcrust pastry, fabric conditioner and how to fix the boiler. (Never had to eviscerate the chicken long distance though!) As SBS says.....bless.

The scariest one was the phone call on a Winter's night. Firstborn had not long passed his driving test. It was almost blizzard conditions. The query? "Mum how do you drive on snow?"
