Cowart's Common Room
Lark Post

Beautiful morning. Clouds are again up in the heavens where they belong instead of grazing the roof tops. The sun is shining. Yesterday I walked to the castle and marvelled at how the parched and burnt grass of a month ago has recovered. Everything is now green and a bright, livid, emerald, spring green that looks so succulent you almost wish you were a grass eating beast. As a child I did eat grass, pulling those long stalks whose lower ends were full of sweetness. A bit like sugar can I suppose. When you had sucked out the sweetness you could turn to the other end and strip off the seeds to be left with something that you could twiddle against someones hair which would bind itself to the grass stalk necessitating ten minutes to untangle. Ah the joys of childhood.

Talking of which we learned yesterday that YD had taken the children to the beach and they fell to burying each others toys in the sand. Theo buried Beanie's dragon finger puppet and then lost it. Beanie was in 'meltdown' apparently to the extent that they are even proposing to return to the beach today to look again for it. I hope St Anthony is listening. Ruth Hogan too.

The people who may be taking over the business came yesterday for a discussion but it was all rather unsatisfactory. I think they saw the business as a glorified sweetshop and not one where you were an (admittedly small) cog in some large company supply chain with all the pressures on performance, quality etc that that entails. The takeover may still go ahead, though I suspect now it won't. We'll just have to soldier on as someone said once, until the business winds itself up.

IKEA tonight whence we shall return laden with coffee and marmalade, also Swedish crisps and crispbreads. We'll probably eat there too (meatballs anyone?) to save cooking at home.

Re:
Fairy Nuff's Avatar Oh dear! if not you will have to write sweet story about the lost Dragon finding happy place to stay. Very Happy

Sunny day here too albeit with an autumnal chill in the air.
Three herons on the pier this morning - must be a parent and two young siblings, they don't normally tolerate being within 100 meters of each other. They always remind me of grumpy old school masters who complain about anything and everything in the voice of Gordon Jackson.Laughing

I hope your business prospectors still take it on and allow you to retire gracefully and all at once. I've been busy updating the website, blog, FB page, HMRC et al as we are ditching the landline as of next week so I've been changing the Studio phone number all over the place.

Hopefully Camilla will be on the mend today and had found her lost jewels as well - unless they have gone to the same place as Beanie's Dragon!
