Good morning to all. And here is a hare in winter for I was wondering as I fed the birds - incidentally the sun is shining this morning and the sky is blue, the endless drizzle of the past week or two suddenly disappeared - as I say I was wondering as I fed the birds this morning whether they have any idea of the approach of winter? The older and more long lived ones perhaps do - 'Why is my plumage changing?' asks the Ptarmigan; 'Why do I feel compelled to follow the sun south?' asks the swallow; but the sparrows and jackdaws happily chattering away, the pigeons on the rooftops, do they know what is coming if they haven't seen it before? Or does it catch them unawares, and, if so, do they panic? To a junior sparrow meteorology must seem very frightening.

Hope everyone and their dogs manage to have a good day. We are in charge of Beanie for the day and have been instructed to take her shopping to buy leggings and a dress. Makes a change from labels, I suppose, though Beanie is notoriously cantankerous when it comes to clothes. She may even be staying the night. Very HappyVery Happy

Inthemud's Avatar Interesting thoughts Fennie. I sat here this morning watching a young Robin pulling at it's baby plummage as the red breast is now beginning to come through from the top of it's little body.
Have a good day with Beanie. Very Happy

Fairy Nuff's Avatar If children, puppies and kittens are amazed by their first snowfall I don't see why other animals would be any different. The instinct to fly south is amazing in birds, even more so in butterflies who make journeys that are just as long.
Does a baby robin get as excited about it's new clothes as a three year old with new shoes?

Have fun clothes shopping Fennie, something I rarely do in shops - I never have really, even as a teenager the high street didn't seem to cater for my tastes. I and one or two friends shopped most often in an antique shop that had a great vintage clothes section.

Camilla's Avatar Morning Fennie and everyone,

Love the Hare pic I adore Hares.

Heavy rain showers here which should cease by mid afternoon hopefully, what a very humid muggy night it was last night had the fan on to cool not even that did not help and only got 4 hours sleep so worn to a frazzle this morning . Son and his two small girls and wife arriving here at 12 from their trip to Mannington Hall Glamping they have been lucky with the weather for those 3 days.

Just waiting for Elaine our dog boarder to arrive Patch has packed his suitcase and eagerly waiting .

Have a good day with Beanie Fennie, have you got a H&M store where you live they do some lovely clothes for girls with leggings and very reasonable prices think they have a sale on at the moment .

Have a good day everyone.Very Happy
