Fairy Nuff's Avatar I almost got up in the middle of the night to grab the 4tog duvet instead of the even cooler fleece throw in a duvet cover we've been using - an hour later I was sticking limbs out of the fleece it had got so warm again, I guess the wind dropped. Laughing

It's been a nice reasonable 21 degrees here the last few days.

Fennie's Avatar It was about 32 degrees yesterday in Lorient, maybe more even in the afternoon. We were all afternoon in a very hot conference hall but at least I got to say 'hello' to the first Minister of Wales who made a very pro-European speech (while adhering somehow to Labour party policy). Afterwards was the reception in the town hall. Again impossibly hot and no air conditioning. We sang first the Welsh and then the Breton anthems, the latter uses the same music as the Welsh for some idiotic reason. Anyway all very convivial and after a couple of glasses of champagne kir, who cares?

Lorient, btw, was a German submarine base during the war and so was completely flattened. Nothing in the town predates 1945. Most buildings, including the Town Hall, are concrete monstrosities. All very sad and indicative of the idiocy of war.Rolling Eyes
