Camilla's Avatar There is a big black spider which has been in the house for days now he has taken up residence and he keeps changing places last night he was on the stairs tonight he was.... Heck behind the top of the curtain in sitting room... Eek! I don't like spiders . Wouldn't harm them though.

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Off to land of nod now, nighty night dear owls and larks. Sweet Dreams.

Have a good day.

PS. The boiler to heating is going to cost £100 as no heating working and needs new switches.Blink

Re:
Fennie's Avatar Thank you Camilla. Your wishes will speed my wheels and wings. We leave at 12.00 all being well and a few urgent things to do before we go.

Boiler heating sounds either cheap or expensive. What is wrong with the switches? Are you sure it isn't something that you or your daughter could fix yourselves? Plenty of videos on YouTube to show you how. But of course take safety precautions.

The spider will eat up lots of nastier creepy crawlies, dust mites and so on. Quite harmless. I noticed one had spun a web overnight under the lamp that hangs over the kitchen table. Poor thing got a shock when I turned the light on. Only a tiny one too. Still a teenager and learning.Very HappyVery Happy

Re:
Fairy Nuff's Avatar Hope you have a lovely holiday Fennie, lot's of autumn sun and copious quantities of wine. Very Happy

Isn't it a bit soon for broken switches on the boiler Camilla, I though the house was quite new?

We have huge house spiders all over the place just now, they always make an appearance at this time of year hiding behind every curtain rail and coming out at night to look for a mate.

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Morning All,

Woke up with horrid rash on right wrist not sure what that's all about, cream has been applied .

The boiler seems to have been a nightmare since we moved in Fennie, safe journey don't forget to lock up.Very Happy

Re:
Camilla's Avatar The cottage is only ten years old FN so I suppose the boiler is too even so we seem to have had problems with it since we moved in last October. The chap we have come to service it (neighbours have the same chap) says it's something to do with the water switch overriding the heating switch and that we need new one also labour costs too.

This spider in the house is so big it looks like it is on stilts I don't mind as long as he does not come near me.Very Happy

Re:
Bradan's Avatar Lots of spiders here too, September is spider month. I don't mind them at all but have to watch our cats as they like to 'investigate' them. Rolling Eyes

Very autumny day today, it would be even more so if we had any trees for the leaves to be dropping off Very Happy

Yikes, Camilla that is expensive for the boiler repair, could you maybe get a quote from someone else that might be cheaper. Is it a gas boiler or oil?

Posted by: Bradan on 21st Sep 2017 at 11:14AM

Re:
Camilla's Avatar It is a boiler that connects the hot water and the oil too we have underfloor heating in the downsize area of the cottage which is water that heats up. The rest of the cottage is oil so radiators upstairs area.

We asked two other estimates from other engineers and they charge even higher.!

Re:
Fairy Nuff's Avatar The house is older than I thought so maybe time for something to go twang.
That said the tiny switch on our boilers timer flips vertically between off/timer/on and has never stayed put at "timer" and would slip back to off every time the timer kicked in so it sits with a matchstick stuffed in the gap to stop it dropping and has done since the boiler was a few months old.Laughing
