Cowart's Common Room
In An Error State

We have just been away for a few days, went on the Settle to Carlisle railway. It has been on Himself's wish list for many years now, I was less than enthusiastic but, Hey Ho!

Even though it was raining for most of the journey, the scenery was wonderful, however I think I enjoyed it more than Himself. The train there and back, a 3 hour round trip, was quite full of people on coach trips who didn't seem bothered about the view (presumably the reason they were there) who chatted very loudly (about Sweet FA) for the whole journey. Himself said he may have enjoyed it more had he been wearing earplugs! I forgot to pack anyRolling Eyes

Back to the title of this post. Today my printer has been 'in an error state', apparently. I just wanted to print a short document and that was the message I kept getting. Checked the printer, on and ready. Checked the document, no error that I could find. I just about took the printer apart to find out the cause of it's 'error state', finally, I thought I would go and have a cup of tea and stood up carefully so as not to dislodge the printer cable which is normally behind my chair.

Why was the error message not 'Your laptop is not connected to your printer'? Evil or Very Mad

Re:
Fennie's Avatar I did hear of a story when someone in your position received the message that the printer couldn't 'find' the computer. The printer's owner rang the help line saying that the printer was on top of the computer or in front of the computer and how could the printer not 'find' the computer.!!

Re:
Camilla's Avatar I have only just remembered that I had forgotten I had a printer which is still in the garage since we moved last October. Shows how much I use it but I did use to use for photo print outs and of course it is useful for word documents.

Me too Fennie I am always in an error state .Very Happy

Re:
Fairy Nuff's Avatar Laughing I've always maintained computers should have a better sense of humour... "You seem to have mislaid your printer" said in the voice of C3PO.

Mine has taken to flashing up an error message just as I switch it off, I've only caught "Unable to find..." so far. Rolling Eyes
However since it only seems to do it when I've shut down media player immediately before shutting down the computer I'm not too worried but it's pointless flashing up a message then shutting off before it can be read.
