Hello Owls and Larks

There is a full Moon tonight does this mean Shepherds Delight.Very Happy quite a grey old bleak day yesterday with the weather and light rain at times .Not at all like a bright Autumn day with intervals of sunshine. I could smell the scent of wood burning in the back garden late evening it reminded me of girl guide days and bonfires this same time of the year all those years ago... Dib dib dib.. Dob dob dob, no that is for the brownies I think.Very Happy

Pot of tea, off for a tour of the site before lamps out soon.

If you can't sleep and there are others on line then have a natter here.

Night Night, & Sweet Dreams

Re:
Fennie's Avatar I thought it was the Boy Scouts, not that I was ever a Boy Scout and all I remember from our daughters' participation in Brownies were the wonderful Brownie songs that we used to sing in the car and were still singing around a barbecue on the Isle of Wight last week.

I don't think a full moon would provide a Shepherd with much delight, Camilla, because it upsets the dogs and foxes, making them howl and behave unpredictably. The moon is where the word 'lunacy' comes from after all. No it is 'Red Sky at Night' which is supposed to herald good weather for the poor shepherd.

Today our weather is like yours: grey and cold and raining, generally dismal weather more reminiscent of August than September. But I hope East Anglia is dryer and that you will enjoy your walk over the sands. Watch out for the seals, though! Maybe you could get yourselves a sand yacht and go riding up and down the beach in style. Very HappyVery Happy

Re:
Withy Brook's Avatar Light rain started yesterday evening and it has continued all night (weight not known). It is still at it today! Can't really grumble though as we haven't had any for a bit. Sad thing is that the forecast for Saturday is poor and that is the day of Bonnie's Christening. No gossiping and drinking champagne in the garden, I fear.

Re:
Withy Brook's Avatar meant to say we could do with a red sky on Friday night to give us shepherds delight on Saturday!
