Here is another scene of the beach at the ~Isle of Wight. You will know by now that I love the play of sunlight on the water. Today we are staying with friends to the south of Chichester - on the beach so more sunset pictures to come. Beautiful house from which you can stroll on to the beach and so into the sea. Our hosts were surprised when I declined. As a medium in which to sail ships cold water cannot be surpassed but as a medium for encompassing the human body in can be surpassed very easily by air and clothes and general warmth. Nevertheless it looks very pretty. Home later today all being well and to a flurry of orders and the general chaos that always accompanies returning home. Very HappyVery Happy

Camilla's Avatar Morning Fennie and Everyone,

Thank you Fennie kindly for posting I was out like a light last night all due I expect from catching up on missed sleep and I slept for 10 hours!Very Happy

I too have always loved the way the light and sun sits on the sea, great pic you have posted Fennie. Enjoy your day in Chichester albeit not swimming in your bathing suitVery Happy I used to here in Norfolk years ago but not now athough I love swimming fit a pool in my back garden and I would be in like a shot.

Autumn is truly in the air today but a beautiful morning lots of intervals of sunshine in a sky of clouds. See folk are wearing a jacket or a cardi today here over the beach but we have had a good summer this year haven't we so can't complain.

Safe journey home Fennie.

Re:
Fairy Nuff's Avatar We've never swum in the sea much here, not even a children, waaayy too cold. Shocked Even fully clothed plus a woolly bear, a dry suit and a life jacket it takes the breath away and that's in July!

I love swimming but I also hate swimming baths, the swimming bit is fine but the getting dressed afterwards when you simply can't get dry in the steamy damp changing rooms is horrible.
A nice private pool beside the house would be nice...an endless pool would be nice and would even fit in our tiny space. Very Happy

Re:
Fennie's Avatar Am home now. A day of blazing sunshine on the south coast but grey and overcast here. Feel tired out - I suppose that is what holidays do for you. One and a quarter petrol tanks of driving and tomorrow a day of work before Monday which I suppose will be something of a rest. But lovely to see old friends and places again. Had coffee this morning on Selsey Bill. Our friends' house has three different tables and chairs overlooking the sea, plus a conservatory overlooking the sea and a balcony ditto. And the sea is very blue and very clear. The whitebait have arrived and with them the mackerel so the fishermen were out in force. I'll post some more pics when I get a minute. Very HappyVery Happy

Re:
Fennie's Avatar Or even out of my bathing suit, Camilla! Very Happy The water has to be 30 degrees before I will venture in. But with a gin and tonic in hand and watching the sun go down over it, sea water cannot be beaten. Very HappyVery Happy

Re:
Camilla's Avatar I remember using the swimming baths in London growing up FN I used to go there with my friend Susan there were the changing lockers of course but I am sure there were also some kind of heat dryers for hair too. Always had a sticky bun when we came out from Mrs Elderfield's cake shop down the road.Very Happy

Sounds lovely where your friends have their house in Chicester.

G&T just as good then Fennie watching the sun go down rather than taking the plunge in the sea.Very Happy

Re:
Fennie's Avatar Ah those sticky buns. Was always a glutton for sticky buns. I used to love those long ones with white or pink icing - what were they called again? Very Happy Chelsea buns? No, those were something else I think.
