Cowart's Common Room
Yesterday's Lark

Oh dear! I shall have to pretend this was yesterday's post but I couldn't get a signal yesterday and anyway yesterday was cold and wet, the winds sweeping down from the Arctic - although the weather was hot and sunny in Northumberland according to the BBC - obviously the make exceptions for their weather watchers like Withy when doling out the dewdrops and the hurricanoes. Not that we are suffering like those poor people in Houston, the rain was just cold wetting rain that appear ed so light that it wasn't raining but then you found it was.

Anyway, we were at the Garlic Farm again yesterday and there I spotted these pigeons and thought I ought to take a picture for Faith, well for all of you really, I couldn't get very close for fear of driving them off and didn't have a telephoto lens but they are black with a pretty white hem to their wings. Otherwise we saw only a solitary chicken. SadSad

Withy Brook's Avatar They did not send us raindrops, Fennie, nor warmth! It was not too bad when the sun condescended to appear but mostly overcast. Never mind, our gardener did masses of jobs, getting us tidied up for the Christening of the younger adopted granddaughter, a week on Saturday.

Fairy Nuff's Avatar I wonder how much pigeon colour schemes change across the country, I suppose local genetics must make a difference, although they do fly huge distances when they want to.

Mixed bag of weather here today, but nice enough just now. First condensation of the autumn on the bedroom window this morning though.

Hope you're enjoying your holiday Fennie even if it is a bit soggy.

Fennie's Avatar Suspect that the pigeons were ornamental ones, Camilla, and today the sun has been shining and the UV is full strength so your prayers have been answered, thanks! Very HappyVery Happy
