Cowart's Common Room
I Can't Sleep Chat Post

Hello Owls and Larks,

Lovely time with my daughter and grandson who came to visit yesterday with their two dogs. Sat out in the garden but would have loved to see some sunshine. Very cold at the moment, back to the woolly's.Very Happy

Son messaged to say he is now back home in Surrey with his family from their trip in France, Disneyland. Some great pics too.

Hot chocolate tonight, if you can't sleep and there are others on line then have a natter here.

Night Night, & Sweet Dreams

Re:
Fennie's Avatar Yes popped off somewhere else Camilla. Hope it works next time.

I'm on grandchildren duty this morning. Have to collect grandchildren and take one to circus skills training while babysitting the other, and then take the other (Beanie) to Ballet while babysitting the one. And all without the benefit of WiFi. Then bring them both back here for lunch. It is well known by parents that grandparents have absolutely nothing to do all day and are therefore delighted to be given such tasks.Very HappyVery Happy

Re:
Fairy Nuff's Avatar Lovely to be able to sit out even if it's a bit chilly Camilla. Nice "Sitooterie" as HO would call it in your pic useful in all weathers.

We used to do Circus skills with the Highland Youth Theatre, couldn't juggle for toffee but got quite good with a diabolo and wire walking was a breeze for a ballet dancer/gymnast, good fun had by all.
I'm sure Ballet would be much more fun if Grandpa could join in too. Wink

Re:
Fennie's Avatar Oh yes, FN, it would be lots of fun! The problem is that I am 40 years older than everyone else and you need a different skill set to herd young children and make sure their shoes are on the right feet and to get them into the car with car seats and what not and their lunches and toys and take them to their destinations when you don't know where their destinations are and then to cope with the odd bout of recalcitrance. Gosh but being a parent is hard. And you can't just sit it out - there are other parents there and you have to interact, smile sweetly, make polite conversation and generally try not to look like someone in their eighth decade. But even watching them is exhausting. I've even forgotten the songs we used to sing going along in the car. None of which boosts the old self-esteem. Still the little ones don't notice. Provided you feed them Pizza and let them watch 'funny cat movies,' you are the greatest. But it is lovely seeing them develop and learn new things - if only they would learn which feet their shoes go on. Very HappyVery Happy

Re:
Camilla's Avatar It keep us on our toes Fennie I know it does with my little grandchildren and it's not only which foot shoe should be on I always had a problem'tying the shoe laces but now some little children's shoes have a Velcro so just shoe on and stick it to stay on.Very Happy

Re:
Fairy Nuff's Avatar Sing along now...
With my foot I tap tap tap (tap toe on floor)
with my hands I clap clap clap (clap hands)
Right foot first (point right foot)
Left foot then... (point left foot)
Round about and back again (twirl round on your toes like a ballerina)

...and in case you don't know it, the tune goes -
(the comma denotes G, below middle C or B, later on)

G,CEC GGG
G,CEC AAA
FDB,
GEC
BAGFEDC

Now that should keep them amused AND teach them their left from their right. Very Happy
