Fennie's Avatar Christmas comes ever earlier. I am truly surprised it isn't over by now. Still not sure of movements over Christmas. I think YD and the grandchildren are coming here on Christmas Eve and then we are all driving over to Frome for Christmas lunch and staying over there, possibly. (Ever since watching 'The Lady in the Van' I have started unconsciously to add 'possibly' to every statement, in the manner of Miss Shepherd (possibly!). We'll buy a tree this week and I need a dressing up dress for Bean. Preferably one that won't ignite like a roman candle if she strays too near a fire. Anyone any ideas.
Elder daughter once had a little Dutch girl dress, which she wore year after year until it fell apart. And very smart it looked too.

Camilla's Avatar Do you have a real tree Fennie, maybe a Norweigan SpruceVery Happy

My eldest granddaughter rang me last night to say she and her fiancée will be arriving to be with us for most of the Christmas Day. My daughter and her husband and my grandson will be coming over too so a yummy planned festive meal is on the menu.Very Happy

Fennie's Avatar Yes we like those as otherwise the needles drop and the whole tree begins to look shabby.

Wow that looks like a lot of work for you Camilla, but it is fun to see everyone happy. Yet I think sometimes we try too hard at Christmas. You can have a happy and perhaps slightly chaotic Christmas lunch, if you don't care about the food too much. But if you go over the top on the food, exotic dishes and sauces, I find that people aren't in the mood to appreciate what you are serving. Maybe the answer is lots of fizz to put everyone in a good mood before you start. Very Happy

Fennie's Avatar How's the wasp sting by the way?

Posted by: Fennie on 1st Dec 2015 at 08:31PM

Camilla's Avatar Wasp sting much better now thanks Fennie. What do wasps actually do for us that's what I want to know they obviously have some part to play but what other then sting!Very Happy Bee's we know have an important part to play they make honey and if it wasn't for the bee's we wouldn't be here but they are little blighters too when they sting.

They are lovely tree's the Norweigan Spruces's there is a farm barn near here that always sells them this time of the year.

Our festive meal will no doubt have all the trimmings followed always by Christmas pud and or Trifle. Festive crackers, and wines. Got to push the boat out Fennie

Very Happy
