Before we lose the snow theme here is a church similar to the one that Vladimir and Elizabeth rode out to on the fateful moonlit night when they were riding bareback so that the horses would keep them warm. The church they visited was dedicated to St Demetrius. I don't know to whom this church is dedicated and it looks in slightly better condition that St Demetrius' church which will almost certainly now have fallen down.

Been at a rather boring meeting in Cardiff all evening, missing my supper into the bargain. Going to see The Lady in the Van tomorrow.Very HappyVery Happy

Hope you eventually got your supper, oh lucky you going to see The Lady in the Van, can't wait to see this. Please do let us know what you think, I am sure it will be a hoot. Don't think there has ever been any other book, film or play by Alan Bennett that I have not liked.

Re:
Fairy Nuff's Avatar It amazes me how many of these old buildings are still standing having endured so many terrible Russian winters. Built with materials and in a way that our planning departments wouldn't pass for a garden shed never mind a home or church... something tells me the people that built them knew much more than the current planners give them credit for.
