Cowart's Common Room
I Can't Sleep Chat Post

Hello Owls and Larks,

My gardener who came before eventually says he will now be able to be with me soon, let's hope so and keeping my fingers crossed for that . Need help with some of the big bushes that don't flower they are just bushes, thinking that it may be too early in the year to prune the hedging as perhaps little babies are still nesting in there. I have an old Hayter Harrier petrol lawn mower am thinking perhaps it's best I go for a newer model of another make as this one although it still goes and has served me 30 years without any problems it's just that it is so heavy to push and my old back knows it

Weather forecast for today here is 21degrees goodie.... Fling off the winter vests?Very Happy

Pot of tea and off to take s tour of the site. On my iPad tonight as my PC is slow at the moment not up to scratch yet with mastering pics on iPad I must sort that out soon lots of pics on my camera roll to my iPad just that when I click img and see the pics come up and then I choose one it either says not a proper format or when I am successful in posting one I go back and look and some other pic entirely has been posted by a gremlin
Very Happy

If you can't sleep and there are others on line then have a natter here.

Re:
Fennie's Avatar I have just trimmed my hedges, babies or no babies. I think the birds understand what you are doing. In any case they nest deep in the hedge and the parents return after an hour of peace, so all should be well.

As to the lawnmower - it is usually the rough ground that makes the machine difficult to push - but have you tried dragging it, which requires far less effort? Modern mowers may be lighter but not so well made or long lasting.

Love the idea of gremlins inside your iPad making their own picture selections. Well they don't seem to be doing too badly. The group above seems to have lost something - but what? Maybe one of the gremlins has run off with their picnic hamper! Very HappyVery Happy

Re:
Fairy Nuff's Avatar A lighter mower may not last as long but much more convenient if you can actually use it.Very Happy
We got the local gardener to cut the grass at Mum's house last week. It's only been done once before this year and he told us last night he filled one and a half of the big square bags you get sand etc in from B&Q with the cuttings... it was obviously needing a trim.Laughing

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Ah yes Fennie re hedge, maybe get it done then next week.

I have pushed it, dragged it, and it is still heavyVery Happy but it has served me well over the years. 300 cash well spent in 1985. Perhaps though as FN says, a lighter model more convenient to use think they come slighter cheaper than the Hayters too. The old Hayter will though still be kept a shame to part even when it is still going albeit big and heavy.

Camilla's Avatar That's a lot of grass FN, still lovely that your Mum's garden has been done, everything is so lush at the moment, turn your back and it has grown again.Very Happy
