Another picture from the twinning. This time of Sunday lunch in Noirmoutier - an island off the French Atlantic coast and joined to the mainland by a causeway that is flooded at high tide. (We had to leave at 7.15 am (6.15 UK time) to ensure that we made it across safely and that was after not leaving the Saturday night barbecue until after midnight. Twinning is not for the faint-hearted). But here we all are recuperating with a five course, two hour lunch in a lovely fish restaurant overlooking the sea. I can't remember quite what we had - hake I think - in beurre blanc followed by cheese and strawberries. Outside the rain poured down for the weather wasn't kind. But who cares about the weather when you can eat hake and beurre blanc? Very HappyVery Happy

Re:
Fairy Nuff's Avatar That's quite a crowd, how many of you went?

Re:
Fennie's Avatar There would have been about 25 of us and the same number of them. We all fitted on one coach anyway. When we go we stay with host families from their twinning association and vice versa when they come here.Very Happy

Re:
Fairy Nuff's Avatar Several of my school friends went to France and Germany with our twinning group a few times.
They were all members of a string orchestra run by the chairman, sadly no place for a French horn player to join them.Confused

Re:
Fennie's Avatar I once had a whim and I had to obey it
I saw a French Horn in a secondhand shop
I carried it home and I started to play it
Despite all my neighbours who begged me to stop.Very HappyVery Happy

Re:
Fennie's Avatar It isn't mine - or if you thought so then I am very flattered! It is from a Flanders and Swan song played to the tune of Mozart's 4th Horn Concerto. Ba baba ba baba ba baba ba bababa bababa bababa baba ba ba.

How did we get from Noirmoutier to Flanders and Swan?
