Cowart's Common Room
I Can't Sleep Chat Post

Hello Owls and Larks,

Just been reading through The Lady Magazine and see that there is a post there that a lady has lost her Jack Russell Terrier about two weeks ago from the Essex area, perhaps we have a member on the site from this area that may notice the dog in their vicinity.

Kettle is on the boil for a cuppa, off to take a tour of the site.

If you can't sleep and there are others on line then have a natter here.

Night Night, & Sweet Dreams.

Re:
Fennie's Avatar I don't know but you look at this sort of furniture - what is it? Late Georgian, I suppose, though this looks a more modern copy. And you begin to wonder why those people from the past seemed to be so much more elegant and to have much more time on their hands? You wouldn't find such a daybed in the DFS catalogue, or even at IKEA? No, these days we wants something on which you can slouch and slump to watch the television rather than to sit elegantly and read. Mind you today we have steam irons, dishwashers, electric kettles and laptops. But why can't we have both?

Re:
Cadfael's Avatar It does look posh doesnt it. These chaise lounges are coming back.We went into a shop yesterday. They had lots of small one person chaise lounge style pieces. You could choose whatever material .My daughter in law was humming and arrring about haveing one in spare room.

Re:
Fairy Nuff's Avatar My my my that's a PINK chaise! Cool

I guess Barbara Cartland would have liked that one. Very Happy
She lived not so very far from here and we came across her Rolls Royce one day parked outside a tweed shop with a rather embarrassed looking chauffeur holding onto two little Penwipers... sorry Pekinese dogs wearing shocking pink coats and diamond collars while they sniffed around the car then pooped on the pavement!

Re:
Ivy's Avatar Sorry to contradict, Fennie but IKEA does ( or did?) a daybed in their Ektorp range.

Re:
Camilla's Avatar I had no idea that Barbara Cartland lived near you FN, I thought she lived in Camfield House in Hatfield in Hertfordshire, previous home to Beatrix Potter. When I worked as a Secretary in London the Director of the business used to live right next door to Cartland in Hatfield.
