Cowart's Common Room
Flood again

Hi, All very quiet on Coo today!
I've got a flood again, it has come in to Sitting room again after heavy rain last night, still keep getting showers so not much chance of it subsiding for moment. Just hope it stays out of other part of house.

Getting bored of all this rain now. Hope everyone else is ok.

Re:
Fairy Nuff's Avatar Oh dear Muddy not again, fingers crossed it recedes soon. We were saying that about the gales last week after a month of it, they seem to have died down for the moment though.

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Oh Muddie, poor you, as if you have not already had enough to cope with the previous floods too. Hope you manage to get the insurance back from your flooding.

Big HUG for you.

xx

Re:
Fennie's Avatar Muddie - I am sending you thoughts of a hot dry wind. You can see through the shimmering haze, the palm trees gently bending in the wind. Everywhere the dusty roads have that farinaceous smell typical of hot weather and only the deep rooted figs and vines can search out water far beneath the landscape. The sky is unremittingly blue though miles above you some streaks of cirrus cloud remind you that even here there may be weather. You looked at the parched ground and notice the angry cracks have become wider since you last looked. The grass has long gone. The cicadas grind out their eternal song and a beetle hurries along pausing at your feet and making a welcome detour. There will be flooding back home, you think.

Re:
KitKatCot's Avatar I can't imagine what you're going through Muddie but I hope it all gets better soon.

I have had a horrendous day at work (at one point I was nearly in tears... yes me... normally as hard as the hobs of hell!) but when I read about your flood again I put my day behind me and am just grateful to come home to a warm and dry home.

Camilla's Avatar I think Muddie is about 12 miles from Petworth in W Sussex.

Do hope things get back to normality for you soon dear Muddie.

So sorry too to hear you had a trying day yesterday KKC, big hugs for you both.

Re:
Inthemud's Avatar Yes, we are on the edge of Billingshurst, Nr Five Oaks. Our cottage is in a hole surrounded by woodland and all water drains through our garden.
