Yesterday we were invited to lunch with friends in beautiful New Quay on the Cardigan coast. In summer the bay is full of dolphins and surfers. This is the view from the top of the garden that rises steeply behind the house. Sadly there is no wildlife of any sort in the picture though they tell me there are lobsters the size of leopards lurking beneath the waves and when the mackerel are in they are so plentiful that you can walk across the bay to Aberaeron without getting your feet wet! I am not sure I believe them, though. Rolling Eyes

Faith's Avatar I would love to see the dolphins. Did you see the programme about them Fennie - with the spy creatures? Wonderful!

Fennie's Avatar Before last night's storms I should have added - we drove home in torrents of rain!

No Faith, I missed the dolphin programme. They are lovely creatures although I wish they were vegetarian. I am not sure I like watching them chomping on fish and seals, penguins etc. It's like owls and mice or hawks and chicks. At lest doves are content with cornflakes.

Withy Brook's Avatar I think it was that New Quay that I saw on tele this evening. Blasted to pieces by huge waves and gales and very high tides. A lot can happen in a very short time.

Fennie's Avatar I think Withy it might have been Newquay in Cornwall rather than New Quay in Ceredigion, although my friends did tell me the see was very high.

Camilla's Avatar What a wonderful spot to live Fennie, I heard about the Dolphin programme but I aways get so sad when other species get eaten, I know it's survival but end up crying my eyes out. Rolling Eyes
