Cowart's Common Room
I Can't Sleep Chat Post

Good Evening Owls,

A rather lovely day yesterday with my daughter and grandson even though the weather was not to favourable with lots of rain showers on our country walks with dogs.

Predicted 30 degrees later today, on with the shades.!

Just made a pot of Yorkshire tea and going to take a tour of the site before lamps out soon.

If you can't sleep and there are others on line then have a natter here.

Night Night, & Sweet Dreams.

Camilla's Avatar Latest news on the blocked loo and dyson hoover..... engineer came out yesterday to find the source of the plumbing problem. Engineer used his camera inside the sewage cover outside to see what was causing the blockage, just as I thought...... woody plant had worked it's way up into it.! he said we will need to have a new sewer fitted outside, I was thinking big bucks. Luckily we have an insurance with our water company who supply a firm of engineers and they have said we are covered for plants they may cause these sort of problems to plumbing.... phew.! just got to wait now for the insurance company to access it and with paper work so hopefully it will not be too long before it is sorted out. Luckily we have a downstairs loo we can use in the meantime.Very Happy

Man tested our dyson, he said it needed a new motor, I queried this with him and asked why as the hoover is only a couple of years old, he said perhaps the hoover was slightly faulty when we first bought it new.Blink a new motor was fitted at no extra cost to us as luckily I had registered it online with the company and it has five year guarantee and just needed to provide the man who fixed the hoover with proof of purchase and the serial number.

Camilla's Avatar Not sure what the plant is that is growing on our exterior cottage wall to the rear of the cottage. When we first purchased the property I thought how lovely it looked against the brick work, but I think also some ivy may have crept through the plant too. I have pruned heavily over the years though. I shall ask Willouby the gardener to pop round soon and have him take a look.

Here is Wind in the Willows, I wonder if Kenneth Grahame at the time of writing this wonderful story book ever thought it would go on to be so successful as it still does with children and adults alike.

Re:
Blackbird's Avatar I'm 'watching' my daughter's plane land- it's now 273 knots at 8900 feet- a treat when the airlines offer tracking. As she's made her way across the country- I've checked in at the Great Lakes, North Dakota, Idaho/Montana border and now coming home.

Good luck with your sucking in and flowing out problems, Camilla and very glad that you have had the extra bathroom. And good job to you for registering your vacuum- something that I often forget to do.

It's due to rain a bit here- finally and just in time for an outdoor wedding that Sam is going to. I hope that they've made arrangements but you would also feel a bit cross after more than a month of dry days to get the only one with rain.

Have a great time later today and I'm glad that you enjoyed your day out with your family- you deserve days of fun, adventure and a little pampering.

Sweet dreams, owls.

Re:
Lily's Avatar I've had really good service from my Dyson. I had a new motor fitted (outside warranty) and found it well worth the cost as it totally rejuvenated it. Pity no similar service for humans.
Love the picture Camilla, I see these gypsy caravans/shepherds huts are very popular now, although somewhat expensive. I remember seeing one in Zac Goldsmith's garden when he had a property in West Devon.

Re:
Fennie's Avatar Yes I could do with a new motor and by coincidence had our old Dyson completely refurbished when SIL worked at Dyson for what seemed a nominal amount. However that was a few years ago and I have a feeling that the machine may require another new motor before too long.

Glad you are having your problems sorted out, Camilla.
